Grayson
I slowly walk with her in my arms, up the trail that leads to a cliff.
"Am I too heavy?" she asks. I laugh as I take a big step on a rock.
"No, not at all," I say. "You're as light as a feather." She's probably a hundred pounds and she's super light for me; but since I'm going uphill, it is kind of hard to carry her.
"Will you still be able to carry me after I'm fat and really pregnant?" she asks, looking at me. I look back into her light chocolate colored eyes, seeing a sparkle within them. Her deep dimples grow deeper as she smiles at me. I would've poked one of them if I wasn't carrying her so dearly close to my body.
She is so damn beautiful.
"We'll see if I'm able to or not when it's time," I laugh, answering her after a minute. We're super close to reaching the cliff, and I'm kind of getting tired of holding Nessa's weight along with climbing the semi-steep trail.
But I keep going; I need today to be problem-less. I need today to be perfect since Nessa and I aren't ever gonna forget it in our lives. I need today to be perfect, just like Vanessa Merrell is.
We finally reach close to the cliff, and I set Nessa down, "There you are, my lady," I bow as she balances herself on the rocky pathway.
"Thank you, gentleman," she says, doing a curtsy. "Now can you help the pregnant woman to the destination even more so she doesn't fall and die?"
"Of course," I say. I have an idea to tease her. "Wait a minute, is being pregnant an excuse to be close to me? 'Cause if it is, I'm not helping you."
"Wow, you don't believe me. I'm so dizzy when I walk, and you don't believe me. Wow, I'm offended," she says as she starts to take baby steps. "You know what? I don't need your help. I'm an independent woman."
She starts to walk on her own, and I laugh, "I was kidding Nessa. Here, let me help you."
I grab one of her hands and set my other hand on her waist. I walk slowly with her, her head looking down as she focuses on walking, "Almost there, Muffin."
Muffin is a nickname I thought of the other day. It fits Nessa perfectly since she's cute, innocent, and so fucking adorable. It's better than the cliché names most people call their significant others, so I decided to call her that.
We finally reach the edge of the cliff, and I help Nessa sit down and take a seat myself. She looks at the view, and then back at me.
"Bebe, this is so beautiful!" she says, happy that I brought her here. I'm happy she likes it, I was afraid she was gonna find it plain and bland.
I decide to be my suave self, "Not as beautiful as you."
She laughs at my cheesy response and goes back to looking at the view in front of her.
It's true. Even though the view of the ocean and the beach, which is about fifty feet beneath us, is fucking beautiful; the view beside me is way more gorgeous than some ocean. The view beside me is a human angel, and I'm blessed to say that she's mine.
"So..." she starts, looking at me.
"So...?"
"I'm kind of hungry. So where's the picnic?" she giggles. That giggle gave me butterflies, literally. She's so precious.
"Fuck. I forgot the basket in the car," I say, mentally facepalming.
"Good job."
"You're not making me feel any better. Besides, I was carrying something way more important in my life; it was way heavier too," I say, smirking at her. She rolls her eyes.
