Chapter 14

So far, Alex had not answered many useful questions. I don't blame him thought because me and Monty have been delaying what was to come.

Even thought we don't know what will happen.

At this moment, I was pacing around the room while Alex had moved to sit with his back against the wall on his bed. Monty remained on the couch, barely moving a muscle.

We were all lost in our own thoughts

"So..." I started nervously causing both Alex and Monty to look up at me "Are you going to let us go?" I asked shifting my eyes to anything but Alex

He grinned sadly "I don't plan on letting you leave just yet" he said teasingly but there was a certain amount of seriousness in his voice "I need to ask a favor. I saved you two - I might even save the rest of your people- and I want something in return" he declared

"You want something in return!?" Monty asked standing up and moving next to me. I had stopped pacing. Alex slowly nodded his head

"You heard me right. A small favor" he said but I shook my head with confusion "I don't understand! We didn't force you to help us, you could have turned us in to your brother" I said taking a step closer to him

"That's right. I still could"

"That basically blackmail"

"You can call it whatever you want to sweetheart"

"I thought you said you had hope! What happened to that? The hope that we could get along" I demanded

"Hope is a precious little thing isn't it? Easy to lose, it could just slip right through the clasp or your hand. Can't it? Your lucky I still have hope."

I wanted to scream at him so badly, but I knew it was no good. Monty sighed next to me, noticing my defeat

"What do you want from us?" Monty asked

"All in good time, my friends"

"You want us to What!?" I shrieked in a whisper. Alex had taken us out from the room, and led us down yet another long series of hallways until we arrived at a large set of double doors. Right now we were outside, waiting for him to tell us what we had to do.

"Yes" he declared

"Are you out of your mind!" Monty exclaimed in a hushed tone similar to mine and Alex's

"It's not that hard.All you have to do is go in and distract him while I go in and get something" he said as if it was the easiest thing in the world

"He will catch us and put us back in the cells!" I exclaimed

"Then I will get you out again!" He said in a 'Duh' tone

"What if he puts more security!" I asked

"He doesn't give a crap about you people! Why do you think he hasn't noticed that you were gone!" Alex exclaimed and I grew silent.

He had a valid point

"So what exactly do you want me is to do?" I asked again and he sighed. He was irritated

"You and..." He paused not knowing Montys name but Monty just shrugged anyway " you basically let him know you escaped, bla bla bla" he explained "then you run away, or so something to make him follows you and leave the room. I don't care where you go, but if he doesn't catch you, head back to my room. Got it?" He asked

Monty and I looked each other in the eye before nodding

Game on.

I admit I was scared. Terrified even but we had to do it. For our people, for our safety, for our future.

Im starting to sound like a damn fortune cookie!

I nodded at Monty and barged through the double doors. Time to face the music

"Hey Idoit!" I shouted once I was inside and came face to face with Ash in the middle of changing. He was there rught infront of me in only underwear

"What the..-" He started but couldnt finish because of Monty

"Bad timing!?" He asked sarcastically, tilting his head to the side. I raised an eyebrow tentively and boy I have never seen someone look so mad before. We were so screwed.

"Opps... Didn't mean to disturb you" I said before bolting out the door with Monty and -Thankfully- Ash on our heels. I saw Alex rush into the room just before we turned a corner.

"Hey! Someone come and help me get these idiots! HELLO!" He said screaming as he ran after us

"Come and get us!" I screamed trying to attract attention so that no one will find Alex

"We are so dead" Monty mummered next to me as the number of people chasing us increased and along with Ash there were now three other guards behind us.

"This way!" I said and we ran down the twisting hallways "Maybe we can lose them" I said and we started going in all directions. Left, right,left, left.
