Chapter 22

I cant remember the last time that we had walked, side by side, on an important mission that would either make us or break us.

It felt so good just to have both of them on my side.

"Where are these papers again?" Bellamy asked his usual deep voice laced with confusion

"I suppose I will keep repeating myslef since no one ever listens" Alex said dramatically and he let out a sigh at Bellamy's harsh stare " Behind the waterfall there is a cave. We have reasons to believe it is there" Alex said as we continued on walking

The sound of rushing water becoming more and more clear with each step

"What reasons?" Finn asked and looked at me for confirmation

"There is a man- Henry- who knew where the papers are, or where we hope they are" I explained and Finn and Bellamy nodded slowely

"And we can trust this guy?" Bellamy asked looking at me but also staring at Alex in the corner of his eye

"Can we ever really trust anyone? It doesnt really matter. Its the only lead we have" I said and Bellamy flashed me a small smile

" I guess your right" He said in an unusually soft voice

"Were here!" Maggie said as we moved past trees and we came face to face with the towering waterfall.

It looked so daunting, so powerful as all the water rushed down. It reminded me of us, the water. Alone in small droplets we are weak and not worth much. Togther we are strong and can stand tall. The thought of that made me smile

"About time!" Monty said with an overly faked sigh that caused me to smile yet again

"Come on! This way, we dont have time to waste!" Alex declared and he moved towards the side and we all followed. Ash may be the official leader for now, but Alex will do amazing with leading everyone. He is a natural born leader and I dont even think he realises it.

"How are we going to get through into the waterfall?" Finn asked looking around for an entrance

"That, is an excelent question" Alex said and he pointed towards a very large pile of rock and stones set abnormaly on the side

"Please tell me there is another way in" Monty said as we tried to move the stones to be able to get in

"None that I know off" Alex sighed and released the rock he had managed to pulll out from the pile

"This will take us hours to get through! Are you sure there is no other way" Maggie asked while looked at Alex, who was now siting at the edge

"Like I said, this is the only entrance I know off"

"We can look around, see if there are any others" Bellamy said and Alex nodded along with him

"Two of you" He said pointing at me and Monty "Go and search while we keep working on this"

"Why us?" Monty asked 

"Because we need their strength" Alex said pointing at Finn and Bellamy

"Il go with them. I wont be much use here" Maggie said and Alex nodded at her

"Lets go then" Monty said as he slowely made his way to the corner with Maggie following. I attempted to follow them but somehow I managed to trip and I almost fell over the edge. I saw the crashing waves down at the bottom of the waterfall but before I fell in, someone pulled me up

"Careful" Bellamy said as he let go off me and nodded towards the way Monty and Maggie had taken off "Don't loose them" He said telling me to catch up

"Yeah, Thanks" I said slightlly awkwardly before taking off - careful not to slip this time- and went after Monty and Maggie
