Chapter 36: Admissions

Pha's POV

I just got out of shower when I heard my phone ring. I checked to see who's calling and was surprised when I saw P'Forth's name.

"Hello?" I say once I picked up.

"Pha, where are you?" he asked. "Can you come here at Yo's place."

"Err...sure sure." I muttered. "I just got out of the shower."

"You're at home?"

"Yes."

"Can you come here? We need you asap."

"Okay...what's going on?"

"It's Kit."

The moment I heard N'Kit's name, I dropped the call and changed into something appropriate. I sped up changing and I didn't even wait for the damn elevator to arrive. I practically leaped two steps at a time down the stairs just to reach Yo's room quickly. The door was already open when I arrived and P'Forth ushered me inside.

I could hear N'Kit calling for me when I got close. I could see him huddling to himself on the bed, his eyes on his lap and he was visibly shaking. What's going on?

The others made way for me when they saw me. I immediately went and enveloped the shaking nong in my arms.

"Pha?" he calls my name with fear in his voice.

"Shh...I'm here." I say and I could feel him burrowing himself deeper in my chest. "You're fine. You're safe."

"It bit me Pha." He fearfully tells me, making me confused. "It sunk its teeth on my neck."

What the heck? He's having nightmares about what happened in the woods!

"Shh...you're safe. It didn't happen." I cooed. "It's just a dream."

"I'm scared."

"Don't be. I'm here already." I tightened my hold on him protectively.

"Don't leave me." he says and my heart clenched at how scared and weak he sounds.

"I won't."

I kissed him on the forehead and urged him to sleep. He snuggled in my chest and I could feel him breathing in my scent. I was actually aroused at that but given the situation, I had to control myself. Minutes later, he was out and fast asleep.

I could feel everybody's stare on us. They probably couldn't believe what just happened and what they're seeing. After all N'Kit and I don't get along in front of them. There's also the part when N'Kit was calling out to me instead of any of them and now I'm cuddling him, reassuring his safety and protectively watching over him. 

When N'Kit had finally drifted back to sleep, I felt the others leave. When I turned to look at the door, Ming and N'Yo were there, watching us. Ming gave me a questioning look while N'Yo threw me a curious one. I could hear the dishes being cleaned up and assumed it must have been Beam.

"What's going on?" Ming suddenly asked me a little too loudly.

I immediately placed a finger to my lips and signaled it to him before I took a glance at N'Kit. Good thing he didn't wake from it.  I turned to the two figures on the door and silently shooed them away. I could see Ming frowning at me but thankfully, he complied.
