Chapter 28: Kit says...

Kit's POV

"N'Yo, I'm happy for you." P'Forth said, making us all turn to look at him with bewildered eyes.

What did he just say? Did I hear him right? Is he giving up now?

"P'Forth..." P'Beam called him hesitantly but P'Forth's eyes remained on Yo.

Yo seemed to have frozen on his seat. I myself is still in shock.

"I'm happy for you guys." P'Forth repeated.

His eyes look sad despite the happy words he had uttered. He had a sad smile on his lips and his face looked defeated. I guess he has given up. But is this it? Is this the end of his pursuit? The look on his face says it all. I guess this is the end? He's given up.

The dinner ended quietly. After dinner, we all huddled in the living room, enjoying some snacks and desserts. The P's also allowed us to join them in their drinks.

P'Forth was sitting on his chair, his eyes locked on Yo. Meanwhile, Yo was sitting on the floor, in between P'Beam's legs. P'Ming sits beside P'Beam on the couch while I took the other end. Pha, for all I care, is sitting on the floor, just a few spaces away from me.

I watched P'Forth as his face changes emotions towards Yo. Yo hasn't talked to him, nor looked. But P'Forth kept his eyes trained on him. P'Ming and P'Beam where quiet but no doubt, they want to interrogate us for the sudden reveal.

I took a gulp of my beer and I caught P'Forth's eyes. He was staring at me with unreadable eyes, making me feel guilty inside. Until I saw a twinkle in his eyes and his lips quirked into a definite smirk. I raised a brow at him, stunned by the sudden change. He didn't say something though and when we all had our fill, we decided to call it a night and head home.

When morning came, P'Ming drove us to Yo's apartment. He didn't asked me about Yo and I but I'm sure P'Beam asked Yo. When the door opened, it was P'Beam who welcomed us. He dragged me to the living room, making me a bit nervous. He made me sit on the couch while he stood up in front of me, his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"It's Yo, isn't it." P'Beam says.

"Eh?" I mumbled uncertainly.

"It was Yo who put you up to this, right?" P'Beam asked more clearly. "Don't lie to me, nong."

I sighed and nodded. I looked up and saw him shaking his head in disappointment.

"P'Beam, are you mad?" I asked.

"No...I'm just...disappointed I guess." he replied honestly.

"Why? I'm doing this for Yo, you know." I said.

"I know you are." he muttered. "It's just that...this isn't the right way."

Oh...well I know that P'. But your brother insisted I need to do this with him.

"Did you see how devastated P'Forth looked last night?" P'Beam asked.

I nodded. Though I kinda doubt it? Maybe?

"He must have been hurt so bad." P'Beam says. "He really loves Yo."

"Is that why you agreed to him courting Yo?" I asked.
