Chapter 4: First day surprise

Yo's POV

I woke up to the sound of P'Beam pounding on my door and shouting for me to get up. I shifted my position and groaned on my pillow. Today's the first day of classes and he's going to drive me to my building that's why he's bossing me around now.

"Hurry up sleepyhead! You're going to be late!" P'Beam exclaimed.

"I'm up already!" I shouted back at him.

I sat up on my bed and stretched my body as I gave off a yawn. I sleepily stood up and went to the bathroom to take a bath. Fifteen minutes later I'm already out of my room, clean, fresh and dressed.

P'Beam was almost done with his breakfast so I just ate on some toast and drank a glass of orange juice.

"Are you that excited?" P'Beam asked.

I nodded at him. Of course I am. I'm finally in college, away from my parents, and I'm free to do things on my own. Besides, there are a lot of things I want to do as a freshman.

"You know,"P'Beam interrupted my thoughts. "just because mom and dad are not around doesn't mean you're free to do things. I'm still here and I'm your guardian so you better not be having any plans on creating trouble."

I scowled at him. Does he have to burst my bubble? It's the freaking first day of classes? Can he just let me have some fun?

A knock on the door sounded and we both turned to look at it. P'Beam stood up and opened the door, revealing the Daechapanya brothers.

"Good morning P'Beam." Kit greeted politely with a wai.

P'Beam ruffled Kit's hair and asked them to come inside. Kit bounded for me while I greeted P'Ming who just raised a hand and nodded. I offered them breakfast but they both declined, telling me that they've already eaten. P'Beam settled back on his chair while P'Ming sat on the couch.

"P'Ming?" I called out to him.

"Hmm?"

"I thought engineering guys don't wear uniform." I said as I motioned to his crisp and pristine uniform.

He look at himself with a scowl and P'Beam laughed at him which made P'Ming glare at him.

"He's doing it for his role." P'Beam answered for P'Ming.

"His role?" Kit and I asked together.

"Don't you know?" P'Beam asked us back and we just stared back at him with puzzled faces. "Oh, he's actually the campus moon."

Kit and I shared a look.

"Campus moon? What is that?" I asked.

"You'll find it out later, nong." P'Ming replied.

P'Beam smirked at him and P'Ming just huffed at him making P'Beam laugh again.

"Okay, I forgot to ask you guys why you're here." P'Beam said as he looked at P'Ming.

"Can you take Kit to school with you? You guys are going to the same faculty anyway." P'Ming said.

"Oh, sure. No problem." P'Beam replied.

"I could take nong Yo for you if you want." P'Ming offered.

P'Beam looked at me. "You're okay with that?"

I nodded. I don't have a problem spending some time with P'Ming. I like him. He's kind, friendly, and supportive of me even though I'm younger than him.

"Okay great! We should get going then." P'Ming said.

We all prepared to leave. I grabbed my bag but P'Ming held it for me. P'Beam slung his bag on his shoulder and herded us outside. He then locked the door and we all went to wait for the elevator, which thankfully is now working perfectly.
