Lily felt cold all over. Darkness cloaked him, caressing him in a tight embrace like how a mother would. He felt cold, yet warm at the same time. The abyss welcomed him into its arms. He wanted to stay in its loving embrace.

But he remembered.

Lily remembered that there were people out there waiting for him to wake up. Waiting for him to come back. Christy's warm smiles, Lilac's unyielding back. He would loose all of that if he chooses to stay here.

So he ran.

He ran away from the arms that were once welcoming, which were now trying to catch him in its clutches. He tried getting away, but it seems like the space where he is at never ends. Until he heard a voice. A voice that sounded like his sister's.

Lilac and Duke Rosal was sitting by Lily's bed. Three hours had passed by and there was still no sign of Lily's condition stabilizing.

Duke Rosal started to pray to the gods above while holding Lily's hand. He deeply regretted not being able to spend more time with his son. Being a warlord, death was not a foreign experience for him. But when his son's life was now at stake, he suddenly didn't know how to feel. Lilac on the other hand, was trying to comfort her father and at the same time, distracting herself by telling stories to the unconscious Lily.

Then, Lily suddenly stirred and opened his eyes.

Relief washed over both Lilac and her father. They immediately came over to Lily and hugged him, tears streaming down their faces, while Lily was left sitting there confused.

Two days had passed since Lily woke up. A lot of things happened during that period of time. The family's overall relationship with each other improved. The twins' father, although still awkward, tried his best to express that he cared. From little things like personally feeding a still weak Lily, to personally trying to teach Lilac the basics of magic. A small step is better than nothing at all.

Lily also discovered something new, he unlocked the family's hereditary powers during his near death experience.
