~You have a place in my heart that no one could ever have~
AIDEN'S POV
The tension at home has been unbearable. My mom and I have been so uneasy with each other.
My dad was so confused, he kept on trying to comfort me and then my mom. Poor Emily she couldn't understand why mom and I were so different.
After dinner Emily went upstairs with my dad and I heard them playing. My mom abruptly got up and walked upstairs.
I sighed and decided to to the dishes. My mom came downstairs and made herself some tea. There was complete silence between us.
My dad came downstairs and sighed, "Alright, what's going on with you two?" My mom shrugged, "Nothing." My dad stared at her, "Layla. Please." She sighed and sat down next to him.
I decided to speak up, for a change. "My biological dad sent me a letter. After reading it I saw that there was a number written on it. Long story short, mom's been keeping my letters that he has been sending to me. I honestly thought he didn't care. Clearly I was wrong."
Dad clenched his jaw and sighed. "Aiden, you know I promised to keep you, Emily and your mom safe from him. What if this is all a set up Aiden? What if he hasn't changed and he just wants to get to you so that he could hurt you again?" My mom nods, "Aiden, this is for your own good. I love you Aiden, you need to understand that."
I clenched my jaw. I then got up and walked upstairs to my room. I heard my dad call for me. But then I heard my mom mumble something back to him.
MILEA'S POV
My parents are heading out again for another work dinner. I decide to freshen up. I then went to go and fetch my phone before I scrolled through Netflix.
I decided to call Ava. She picked up immediately, "Hey Milea, you okay?" I chuckle, "Yeah I'm good. Listen I know it's school tomorrow but do you want to come over and binge watch movies with me?"
She was silent for a moment. "Sure, but I'm stopping to get pizza first." I chuckled. "Cools, I'll pop the popcorn." She smiles. "Wait Milea, I'm fetching Bell first then pizza then I'm coming over." I smiled, "Great stuff."
-Later-
We ended up watching 13 Reasons Why. Oh my goodness!! We were a mess, our emotions and our self esteems were all over the place.
We then ended up passing out on the couch at 12am. We were all woken up by my parents snapping photos of us.
Ava shrieked as she fell off the couch while Bell groaned. "Alec, Claire! Normal people would carry us up so gently to our rooms. Whereas you two take black mail pictures." I burst out laughing along with Ava and my parents.
These two girls have grown so close to my family. Bell and my dad would randomly argue about whether peanut butter or jam tastes better together or seperate.
Then you get Ava and my mom who are constantly trying to come up with new recipes. They're constantly baking or bonding.
Then there's me. Guys leave my parents alone. Or Carol come fetch Bell, I can't deal with her. Or Melissa take Ava home, she's annoying me. Our families have grown so close. It's crazy. Oh and I can't forget that Connor is well-known too.
Bella and Ava then quickly ate breakfast and rushed home.
Later at school I met up with Aiden and we had double English.
-Later-
I glanced at him, "Want to go for coffee?" He chuckles, "Sure." I smirk, "Well let's go. You're driving though I'll give you directions."
He chuckled and off we went. We went to this cafè called Beans and Creamer.
I bought Aiden and I cappuccinos and a bunch of donuts.
I then saw my phone buzzed from Ava. Shoot, I quickly told her that I was Aiden. Just then I saw a flash go off in my face.
"Aiden, don't tell me you took a photograph. I probably look so bad." He shook his head, "You look beautiful Milea. I mean you always look beautiful."
I blushed, "Aww." He chuckled. "It's prom this year, can you believe it." I grin, "It's crazy." He smirked.
I analysed him. I noticed his eyes seemed distant. Something's up, that he's not telling me.
He furrows his eyebrows, "What?" I sigh, "Aiden, are you okay?" He chuckles, "Of course I am. What makes you think I'm not."
He's lying to me. He's avoiding my eye contact. "Aiden. I know you're lying to me." He sighs, "Milea, please. Not now."
Oh. Okay, well- Milea chill. He'll tell you when his ready.
I stare up at him and nod. "Alright then, you good to go?" He stared at me for a bit before nodding.
