Chapter 29

Dumbfound.

I was astound---but not confused. I did saw it coming. The words she spoke was too familiar. My face wasn't fixed with astonishment by what she said and that makes her boggle instead of me.

Flabbergast about it seems to be way too far from what I just did. Amaze or even daze isn't visible in my face. And that makes her look at me, with puzzled eyes---glistening with clinquant stupefy that makes her shake my shoulders.

"Be honest with me, are you...retrieving your memories?" She asked, attentive with each word she utter. She may be engrossed to know the truth. Basically, I won't do it that easily.

"No." I said precisely. Crooking my head, I just bore my eyes at her while she just looks at me; desperately. I'm not that convinced though, that people are that obsessed to make me retrieved my memories. Well, they failed.

She breathes heavily before she said this, "Oh, I thought you did. Tell me right away if you will, okay?" She said. Relieved is noticeable in her tone as she says that.

We both jolt in surprise when Gabriel barge in through his sister's room without knocking.

"I told you to knock---" Just his usual routine. Dragging my ass out off his sister's room. When we reach from their second floor's balcony, he immediately turns his back while looking at the sky.

I smell the trees and leaves from here. Probably from the rain earlier. It was a pleasing rain earlier, by the way. I was glad by it, truthfully. But lately, I keep on dreaming things, with the sky and stars.

It shines so brightly, yes, but the light from it isn't enough to even light his eyes from staring at me. It was dark. Pure dark as It leads my path. I couldn't see anything. But we lived in it. Someone said that it's responsible for the structures in the universe.

It was confusing, but every individual has different definition from what almost all people say. The dark is responsible for the outside universe that we, most people, doesn't seem to observe since only few people are only allowed to do such.

Billions lived here in earth, for short, we can't be counted. But people who visited in the outside universe, can be. In just seconds.

Darkness may lack of illumination or may have absence of visible light. But as my inner eye said, darkness can be tamed by light. Which means, darkness still has light in them. But it was only hiding in the dark.

I was still hiding in the dark. Just as dark may corrupt me all over soon. He's the darkest that may have corrupted me. It was irresistible. The only man who is much more difficult to have his eyes on you than make Ronald the McDonald's confess that his twin brother is Pennywise.

"I overheard your conversation with my sister earlier." He said suspiciously, without looking at me, again. My eyebrow raised.

"I'd rather take eavesdropping. How was it?" I said, mocking him. He turns around to face me, but still looking at the sky.

"You want to know?" He said in a monotone. Looking at his dark hair that gracefully move by the wind, it almost wipe me away from standing. His pitch-black V-neck shirt suits his masculine body. But when you look closely, you can still see that he's still an oh-so-good-looking teenager.

You see, he's a six-footer while I'm at 175. Even though I'm that tall, you can see that he's a tall guy. But, I'm not struggling to even reach his hair. Well, I can't. His eyes are toxic.
