Eight months after Isabella is born, Ross and Laura both decide to head back to school for their Senior Year.
With Ross in a new relationship and Laura connecting with new people, a jealousy that neither of them knew existed might just stir things...
Laur, I know you'll be reading this first letter the second I give it to you but PROMISE me you won't read the rest until their designated months. They all have a special meaning that you'll figure out sooner or later.
At the bottom of this note you should find two tickets that I have stapled for you and Bella to come and see me after one of our shows on the sixth of August.
It's awhile to go yet but I'd love it if you two could make it.
I love you both so much and I promise I'll be thinking of you every single day.
Stay safe.
Ross x
I was laid in bed with Isabella beside me rereading the note that I'd originally read out for Isabella and I earlier on in the day. With a deep breath I hung the two tickets up on my wall and smiled. "No promises." I murmured before laying back down beside Isabella. "But we'll try."
I turned my nightlight off and stared up at the ceiling, inhaling sharply. I began to wonder where Ross currently was in this huge world of ours and what he could possibly be up to on the cramped tour bus they were all sharing.
A gentle knock came from my bedroom door and I turned onto my left side, propping myself up on my elbow and smiling as my mom entered through the doorway of my darkened room. "I thought I could hear you. What are you still doing up?"
I sat upright slowly, making space for my mom on the edge of the bed. I shrugged my shoulders and pulled my knees close to my chest. "I'm thinking of Ross."
My mom's face softened and her green eyes glistened in the small patch of light coming from the hallway. She wrapped her hand tightly around my own and smiled knowingly at me. "It's not forever honey. He'll be back before you know it."
"I love him mom." I whispered before chuckling to myself. I was always so embarrassed to admit my feelings. It made me feel so vulnerable. "I really, really love him."
"You can see it in your eyes." She murmured with a soft chuckle before pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. "That's what your father always used to say to me anyway..."
I sighed and held my mom's hands tightly in my own. "He's always going to be with us mom."
"I know honey... I know."
There were a few moments of silence between us both before she stood up from her place on my bed and walked away back towards the doorway. "I think we both need to get some sleep. Try to think of something other than Ross honey, you'll be surprised at how much it helps."
I nodded slowly at her and curled up next to Isabella who was still sleeping quietly beside me. "Okay mom." I whispered. "I love you."
"I love you too baby... always."
My bedroom door closed and I was left alone once more in the darkness of my bedroom with only the sound of Isabella's gentle snoring and the rain from outside on my window pane to keep me at ease.
I turned to face the bedside table that was next to me and smiled at the small photograph that was sealed tightly in a frame of Ross and I at Rydel and Ratliff's wedding. We both looked so happy and in love. I could only pray that he wouldn't ruin that again for us... or better yet, myself.

Ross' POV
"New York City! Can you believe it?" Rocky asked the four of us in disbelief as we stepped off our tour bus and headed into a large concert building where we were expected to perform in just a few hours time.
Rydel and Ratliff walked ahead of the rest of us with sour expressions on their faces and their arms wrapped tightly around their torsos. I frowned to myself and glanced at Riker who was desperately trying to find some signal in order to call Vanessa and tell her that we all got here safely. I wanted to do the same but I was afraid of hearing Laura's voice, I was afraid of wanting to turn back when it was already to late to do so.
A heavy hand patted me on the shoulder, it was our manager for the tour, Stephen. He was an older guy, around our father's age and although he'd tried his best to converse with the five of us he was pretty much failing. "Yo Ross my man, what's going on with you? You're so silent, it's deafening bro."
I rolled my eyes at his attempt of 21st century slang and gave him a forced smile before grabbing a spare guitar from one of the crew members who worked back stage. "I'm good Stephen." I said bluntly, wrapping the guitar strap around my shoulder. "This is business to me and business should always be formal, right?"
"Well, uh yes-"
"So I'm being formal about it." I continued, taking a seat on one of the stereo boxes and plucking one of the guitar strings to get it in tune before we were due on stage for a sound check.
Stephen shrugged and took a seat opposite me. "I don't know man... you're almost nineteen. This is your huge break... you deserve to have some fun with the ladies and drink until you've passed out on a hotel floor."
I chuckled lightly to myself and turned my attention to him, suddenly feeling slightly pissed off. Had my father hired someone as our tour manager and not given him a single ounce of information about our backgrounds and what we were like as people?
"I have a daughter." I calmly stated, watching as his face fell into confusion. "I'm pretty sure my partying days are over."
I stood up and began to walk away from him towards Rocky and Ratliff who were warming their vocals up and discussing what song we should open and close our show with. "Ross wait! I'm sorry... I didn't know." Stephen called out from behind me. I turned on my heel and exhaled before nodding my head knowingly at him. "I don't want us to get off on the wrong foot. We have a long six months together."
"I know." I murmured. The reminder of six months away from my family, Laura and Isabella was killing me slowly inside. I glanced away from him and quickly blinked to get the tears that were forming out of my eyes. "Thanks for understanding." I added before joining with Rocky and sitting quietly beside him.
I knew that no matter how hard I tried I wasn't going to enjoy this tour if I continued to act the way that I was. I didn't need girls or parties to have fun, right? I could hang out with my brothers and enjoy myself whilst being out on the stage. It was my time to shine and I had to live in the moment, I couldn't go back, not now. My only destination was forward, no matter how I felt about it.
Stephen clapped his hands excitedly from in front of us and gestured to the doorway that was slowly opening. "Guys listen up a sec! I'd like you to meet your back up dancers... Theo, Haley and last but not least, Arielle."
The last girl, Arielle, stood inches in front of me, a sickening smile on her face. The long waves of her blonde hair lay effortlessly on her back and her big blue eyes were twinkling underneath the spotlight we were under.
I felt my stomach turn to knots as I realised this tour was suddenly going to become even harder than it already was.
