Laura's POV
"Laura! Troy is here!" Mom called out to me excitedly from downstairs. I stared at myself in my long length mirror and brushed my satin baby pink dress down. I smiled and wrapped my arms around myself. I looked decent enough, not perfect but definitely acceptable to walk in front of my best friend down the aisle.
To my surprise Vanessa had already left almost an hour prior before Troy came to pick me up after Riker promised he would drive them both to the wedding in his new sports car. I was slightly worried about her mental state but I trusted that Riker would take care of her the best way that he could, at least until my mom and I arrived at the wedding to join her.
I slowly walked down the staircase and locked eyes with a blue eyed Troy. His dark brunette hair was spiked up with a crazy amount of hair gel and his tanned skin was glowing with the suit he was wearing. "Hey." I murmured with a nervous smile. He held his hand out for me and I accepted it. He wrapped a pink blossom corsage around my wrist and smiled at me before stepping back for me to stand beside him. "That's so beautiful, thank you so much."
"You don't have to thank me." Troy said with a wide smile. He turned to my mom who was holding an excited Isabella in her arms and he pulled out another corsage. This one however was tiny and had a couple of diamonds around the blossoms on the wristband. "And this one is for you Miss Bella."
I held my hand to my chest and giggled quietly as Troy wrapped the corsage gently around Isabella's small wrist. She gurgled with happiness at him and waved her wrist around in the air, almost hitting my mom across the face. "Oh Troy that's so beautiful!" I exclaimed before wrapping Isabella up in my arms. "We can be twins now." I whispered to my daughter who giggled once again.
"You better get going." Mom said before wrapping her handbag up around her arm. She was dressed in a tight fitted navy blue dress with a bluebell corsage to match and her short blonde hair was curled tightly around her shoulders. "I'm meeting Stormie for a quick glass of red wine before the wedding begins so I'll see you kids there."
I smiled and placed a kiss on my mom's cheek. "You look beautiful." I murmured before turning on my heel and carrying Isabella out to Troy's car. "We'll see you there! Stay safe okay?"
"I will, I will!" Mom called out before waving her arm frantically at Isabella who managed to wave back despite being infatuated with her corsage. "Bye!"
I sat in the passenger seat beside Troy and glanced at Isabella who was sat in the back with a car seat that Troy had already set up for her to sit in. She was holding her pink unicorn in her hand and blabbering words to it that neither of us could work out. "She sounds like she's going to say her first word any day now." Troy motioned to her, keeping his eyes fixated on the road ahead of us.
"Oh yeah." I agreed, tickling Isabella's leg with my index finger. "She's obsessed with trying to speak. I can barely get her to stop."
"She's intellectual." He murmured, smirking to himself. I found myself smirking back. "Just like her mom it seems."
I smiled and fiddled with my thumbs. "She's so great, Troy. I feel so blessed to be able to call her my daughter, you know?"
Troy chuckled and nodded his head at me before briefly brushing his fingertip over my hand. "Yeah, I know."
Silence filled the car for a few moments before Troy put the radio on, he impatiently flicked through the endless stations of chatter or rock songs until finally he came across a slow love song which he seemed to be satisfied with. "Have you ever heard this before?" He asked, pointing to the radio.
I shook my head as an answer to no and Troy gasped and chuckled. "No way! It's such a beautiful song... I thought everyone had heard it."
"Not me." I said bluntly with a quick chuckle. I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't really have time to listen to music that much these days, I'm always so preoccupied with something else."
