Laura's POV
"Laura, where are you taking me?" Ross asked with a gentle chuckle as I guided him further to our destination. I had a blind fold over his eyes, much like he did for me the first time he surprised me and held his hand tightly in my own. "I hear music... it's not a club is it?"
I rolled my eyes and let out a quiet giggle. "Of course it's not a club!"
The big secret you may ask? I was taking Ross to his very own personal music studio. I'd inherited some money after my father had passed away and although it was meant for me, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I'd spent the last few months staying up late, researching countless microphones, guitars, drum kits, keyboards - you name it! If Ross couldn't live out his dreams away from Isabella and I then I was going to bring it to him.
Our apartment complex had a very interesting layout. Each apartment had it's own basement underneath, along with a garage. Ross had told me that we'd leave the basement as a storage unit for the time being and that we probably wouldn't ever end up using it. But, a Marano's mind can work in mysterious ways and so, I'd made it into his very own recording studio. Plus it could fit five or more people which if I do say so myself is very fitting for R5 to practise in.
We stopped outside of the basement door and Ross' blindfold was still strapped tightly around his head. I exhaled gently and grinned to myself as I unlocked the door. I pushed Ross in slightly before taking his blind fold off and standing in complete darkness with him. "Oh my god Laur, don't kill me please. You know I don't like scary stuff!"
I giggled and held my finger metres away from the light switch. "Three... two... one!"
The lights came on and we were met with a huge recording studio. There were cream sofas, coffee tables, pens, pencils, notepads, instruments and even a mini fridge in case they ever got hungry. "Laura... oh my god."
I began to giggle and clap my hands together excitedly. I felt like a little child on Christmas morning. There was no better feeling than seeing your significant other happy, especially when it's something you've done to make that happen. "It's all for you! And I figured... if you guys are still up for it, R5 could practise here too."
Ross held his hands to his face in disbelief and began to descend the staircase down into the studio. "Laura... I can't believe you've done all of this. Where did you get the money?"
I tapped my nose and beamed at him. "A lady never tells."
I personally didn't want to admit that I'd used the savings my father had left for Isabella and I. Ross wasn't the type of guy who liked to take other people's money, even if he so desperately needed it.
"Laura... I can't even begin to thank you." He whispered as he traced his fingers along the recording equipment. "This is insane."
I smiled. "I figured if you can't have the dream then I'll bring the dream to you."
"Oh baby I already have everything I need." Ross murmured as he wrapped me up in his warm embrace and kissed me softly on the forehead. "This is just an extra add on to my already incredible life."
I ran my fingers through his hair. "You've got to promise me that you'll pursue a music career, okay? If it's really what you want then I want you to go for it. You'll be able to work from home so that you aren't away from Bella and if any managers want to reach out to you in the future then this will be an amazing way to get your name out there."
Ross traced his fingers down my back and nodded at me happily. "I promise baby. I can't believe you've done this for me."
"I love you, Ross. I'd do anything to make you happy."
I truly mean it. Ross was my everything. He'd become such a special part of my life and he'd given me a gift greater than life itself; our daughter.
"And I love you baby... so much." Ross murmured into my ear before sitting me down on the couch and grabbing one of the acoustic guitars that were laying around the room. "I sang a song for you whilst I was away on tour... so now I'm going to sing it for you."
I stared at him and I could feel my cheeks becoming a bright shade of red. "A song? For me?"
He nodded and began to pluck away at the strings, a playful smirk lingering on his lips. He stared deeply into my eyes as he began to gently hum along to the romantic tune he was playing.
"Teardrops in your hazel eyes. I can't believe I made you cry. It's been so long since we went wrong but you're still on my mind..."
"Never meant to break your heart. Sometimes things just fall apart. So heres one night to make it right. Before we say goodbye."
"So wait up, wait up. Give me one more chance. To make up, make up.
I just need one last dance."
"Freshman year I saw your face. Now its graduation day. Said we'd be friends, till the end. Can we start again?"
"So wait up, wait up. Give me one more chance. Just one song and I'll move on...
I just need one last dance... with you."
I could feel tears falling down my cheeks as I wrapped him up in a tight hug. "You really sang and wrote that for me?" I asked breathlessly. He nodded and smiled. "Ross... that's so sweet."
He pulled out his phone and handed it to me before playing a video clip of him singing on stage in the rain during his tour. "I've kept this hidden from you but I think now you should watch it. I really missed you on the tour, Laur and that song was more special to me than any of the other ones I sang."
I shook my head in disbelief. I'd never dated someone with such a kind heart. I always ended up with people who didn't deserve my love or my effort but Ross... Ross was different, very different. In the best kind of way.
I cupped the underneath of his chin with my hands and pressed my lips to his. "I love you so much."
"I know. You've said." Ross winked before wrapping his hand up in mine. "Come on, let's go and have some dinner."
As we headed out of the basement door, I quickly came to a halt and clicked my tongue. "Actually we cant."
"What, why not?"
"Because..." I said in a song song voice. "Trisha and Cece are having a catch up session in our apartment."
"Laur, our apartment is turning into a therapy session for our friends and family! I'm starving. You've got to let me eat."
I reached into his pocket for his car keys and grinned. "I'll drive you to the nearest Taco Bell. We are not going to disturb them."
"Ugh fine... I guess I can eat a taco or two."
"Or three." I added with a giggle.
