Laura's POV

Rydel and I were sat across from one another on my mom's couch sharing a bag of salted chips and watching a random horror movie that had ventured it's way onto the television screen. Ross had taken Isabella out with his parents for some so called, bonding time and I'd been left to enjoy some peace and quiet and a catch up with one of my best friends aka my future sister in law for the rest of the day.

My mom poked her head around the living room door and smiled at us both. She was dressed in her work attire and had her handbag slung over her shoulder. "I'm off to work girls, make sure you lock everything up and only answer the door when it's me, okay? Love you both!"

"Love you more!" I called back in exhaustion before turning my attention back towards the disgusting horror movie on the television in front of us.

"Bye Mrs Marano!" Rydel frantically waved her arm and stretched as a yawn escaped from her lips. She threw her hand over her mouth and chuckled before sitting upright and pausing the movie. She turned her attention to me and a huge mischievous grin formed across her face. "Laur..."

"Oh god, what is it?" I asked, momentarily facepalming myself. I'd dealt with enough scandal and drama lately to last me a lifetime, I certainly didn't need anymore. "Delly!" I hissed, prodding her on the arm. She was still grinning at me from ear to ear like a cheshire cat and I had absolutely no idea about what she about to tell me.

She clicked her tongue and inhaled deeply, a smile still plastered on her face. "Okay so... I had a chat with Ross the other day about me and El, the way I feel about him, blah, blah, blah."

"Okay..." I murmured, cautiously eyeing my best friend up and down. "So?"

"So..." she continued, taking another deep breath. "Ratliff and I have come to the conclusion that after we attempt to share our music with the world and get our names out into the industry... we'd like to start a family."

I stared at her with wide eyes, unable to move my body or even react to the piece of information she'd just delivered to me. "For real?"

She nodded excitedly and held her hands close to her face. "I think I'll be ready by the time I'm twenty two and I've seen the way El is with Bella... I want to build a family, Laur. When the time is right, I'll be ready."

"Oh Delly!" I exclaimed, wrapping my arms tightly around her body. I pulled back and held my hands on either side of her shoulders. "Are you sure? I mean I'm so happy for you and I'll support you but... are you sure you're ready for a big commitment like this?"

Rydel nodded eagerly. "I'm so sure, Laur."

I smiled happily at her and shook my head in disbelief. "I better be the first one to know when you eventually do get pregnant!"

"Girl you already know that you'll be in that washroom with me helping me to pee on that magical stick!" Rydel giggled and I burst into a fit of giggles along with her.

I held her hands in my own and we both smiled happily at one another. "Do what makes you happy, Delly and nobody can ever hate you for it."

"How about you? Are you happy?" She asked, her brown eyes filled with curiosity.

I nodded at her slowly. "I'm really happy. I think becoming a mother was the best thing that could have ever happened to me even though I wasn't ready."
