Ross' POV
2 months later
"A baby?"
"Yes Daddy, a baby." Rydel repeated with a smile. She held up her five month ultrasound with a smile. "We also know the gender but we've decided to keep that a secret until the birth."
Our father sat on his infamous red couch in the corner of the room and held his hands to his face. I watched as small tears fell out of his eyes and he shook his head back and forth at the picture Rydel and Ratliff had handed to him of his soon to be grandchild. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Rydel awkwardly giggled and shrugged her shoulders. "I didn't exactly find out myself until I was three months. I wanted to tell Ratliff first and get our plans straight before telling the family. I hope that's okay daddy."
He stood up slowly from the couch he was sat on and wrapped his arms tightly around Rydel's body before placing his hands on her tiny stomach. "It's completely okay sweetheart. I'm more than ready to become a grandfather..." He turned to glance at me and winked. "again."
He then shook Ratliff's hand and gave him his blessing. "Take care of my daughter son... and my soon to be grandchild. If you hurt either of them you know where I'll be."
Ratliff's eyes widened. "At home?"
"No boy!" He muttered with a quick roll of his eyes. "I'll be underneath your bed whilst you sleep with my hands ready to-"
"Okay Pops that's enough." Rocky nervously chuckled as he guided my father away from Rydel and Ratliff.
I made my way over to my best friend and older sister with a loving smile on my face. "I'm proud of you... both of you. I know that this is a huge thing Delly and it's a lot to take on but I know you can do this. If you're anything as good with your child as you are with Bella then I'm definitely trusting you to be a good mom."
Rydel's dark brown eyes began to water as she wrapped her arms around me. "Oh Ross!" She pulled away from our hug and placed a loving kiss on my cheek which left a red lipstick stain. "I love you so much."
"I love you so much too." I replied with another grin before turning to Ratliff and patting him gently on the back. "You better get rid of Bob before my niece or nephew comes along... you know he'll peck at their feet, right?"
Ratliff rolled his green eyes at me and crossed his arms over his chest. "Ross, come on man. How many more excuses are you going to spill to me before you realise that I'm never going to get rid of Bob?"
Rydel's eyes widened and she mouthed a, "told you" to me before walking away towards my mom and Cece who were excitedly gossiping to one another.
"Dude, you can't have chickens with toddlers walking around the place! They might bite or-"
Ratliff held his hand up to my face and frowned. "Ross... let me stop you there. Allow me to walk you through the mind of a chicken. First of all, they do not have teeth. They have beaks... so they can eat with them."
I rolled my eyes. "Okay lecture me on chickens another day I've got to go and check on Laura and Isabella."
Without another word I wandered off upstairs to try and attempt to find my fiancée and my daughter. I mainly just wanted to get away from Ratliff's ongoing explanation of how the mind of a chicken works but I also wanted to check up on my two favourite girls and make sure that they were doing okay.
"Knock knock." I teased. I was slumped up against the doorway of Rydel's old bedroom. Laura and Isabella were laid out on the bed staring up at the ceiling and I chuckled. "So this is what you've been doing for the last half hour?"
