We were holding a secret meeting of the Host Club, excluding Tamaki and Eri.
“It’s so obvious, so why won’t they do anything about it?” Akane groaned, flopping over the table in Kyoya’s room.
“I think Tamaki should ask her out!” Honey said, sitting on the couch in Yuna’s lap, Usa-chan safely nestled in his arms.
“I don’t think Tamaki is bright enough for that,” Yuna told him gently. It really was amazing to watch how she transformed from her usual snooty self to a kind mother around Honey. “And Eri is too stubborn to admit that she likes him.”
“We’ll have to trick them,” Hikaru voiced, thinking. He looked over at his twin and they both frowned.
“Trick them, yes, but how?” Akane wondered, flopping back against the couch with her arms folded in front of her. “And whatever we do, we’ll have to keep it from that Kaida girl. Knowing her, she’ll just get in the way!”
I wrinkled my nose at the mention of Kaida. She hadn’t been too pleasant around Faye, but the bookworm’s silent nature scared her enough where she didn’t get it too badly. Unfortunately for the twins, she was all over them, making sure that the other girls kept back. She was almost ruining business, but Kyoya and Tamaki managed to charm her into behaving and playing nicely. That didn’t stop her from being irritable to Eri and just plain mean to me, though.
“We’ll have to arrange a group outing, and then not show up,” Kaoru told us. “Why don’t we plan a fun trip to that little festival down by the river?”
“Sounds good to me,” Kyoya nodded. “We’ll have to be sure to keep close tabs on them in case Tamaki messes up, however.”
Like in the manga… I thought.
“Then it’s settled,” Akane said, standing up. “We’ll tell them we’ll be meeting at the festival at 5 Saturday night. Sound good?”
We all nodded.
“Oh, and before you leave,” Kyoya halted us as we walked out. “I was thinking—all girls like a manly test, isn’t that right?”
Us four girls nodded our heads.
“Then how about a dojo themed day? We could do it tomorrow. Hikaru? Kaoru? Do you think you could get the costumes we need?”
“Sure thing, boss!” they saluted.
“Alright, then. And you girls can watch prettily at the sidelines and be the fair maidens.”
“Bor-ing!” Akane yawned. “I’mma whip y’all’s butts!”
“I’m sure you will, Akane-kun,” Kyoya smiled, taking my hand to lead me to the limo. We crawled in and headed back to the dorms.
“Ooooh, I’m so excited! Yuna, isn’t this great?” Akane asked, engaging the snooty one.
“It is!” she agreed, flashing a rare smile. “I just hope nothing goes wrong. Don’t go talking about this at school, now, or else Kaida will find out.”
I nodded. “You know what she would do…”
They shuddered.
“Isn’t Kaida staying at Tamaki’s house?” Faye asked.
We all looked at each other.
Shoot.
“I… I think she is…” I murmured. “What will happen when he leaves her behind? I heard him say that he can’t hardly sleep by himself…”
