chapter three - "happier"

I WALKED THE BUSY halls of the high school passing the loudness of the chatter of the people at every corner.

i walked into the school bathroom wanting some quiet before the first bell rang.

i awaited emma and hailey's arrival, as i checked over my appearance in the mirror.

i went simple and wore a bright mustard hoodie with light blue ripped jeans and vans.

and my hair in a messy ponytail, a few strands sticking out from the front.

i walked out of the bathroom heading towards my locker. opening it i grabbed the textbooks i needed shutting it soon after.

closing it, ethan stood behind it. startled, i hit him with the textbook out of impulse, not knowing who it was the second i closed it.

"hey! what was that for?" ethan yelled out with a laugh.

i roll my eyes with a scoff. "well when i closed my locker i didn't expect to see you standing there in silence you weirdo." i lean against my locker with my books clutched to my chest.

he pushes out a laugh looking down, before meeting my eyes once again.

"hey, so you still down for fri-" i say before im cut off by emma and hailey.

"hey serina! hey baby." she says walking to ethan and connecting her lips with his before he was able to respond.

my smile fades, looking away from them to greet emma. she stands beside me giving me a hug with a big smile on her face.

"hey guys!" grayson says happily wrapping an arm around me. i look up at him with a big smile greeting him back.

"alright babe ill see you later." ethan says giving a kiss on her forehead. the bell had rung, all of us going out separate ways to our respective classes.

"meet you at our regular place at lunch." i say with a quick nod towards emma. she acknowledges it walking off with emma.

i join ethan and walking to our first period class together hoping the morning doesn't go by as slow as it always does.

"hey why didn't you come to first period yesterday?" i ask grayson walking alongside him.

"slept in on accident." he shrugs walking.

i laugh rolling my eyes entering the classroom with them sitting next to ethan while grayson sat behind us.

during lunch sat me, gray, ethan, hailey, and emma.

grayson, emma and i engaged in our own conversation while ethan and hailey were in their own.

i munched on my fries until ethan spoke up.

"hey what were you saying this morning?" ethan says looking up from food. his hand was intertwined with hailey's.

i moved my eyes away from their hands and back to his eyes speaking. "oh right, you still up for our usual friday movie night."
