chapter nine - "exes"

april 12, 2015, sophomore year

I FELT A FIGURE jump onto my back. her familiar laugh echoed through the hall, stares making their way upon us.

startled, i put the unknown person down turning around to be met with their face.

"natalia!" i yelled in excitement crushing her into a hug.

natalia was a friend from back home in jersey. she was my best friend, and had transferred at this high school just a few months back.

"hey babe!" she says embracing me back tightly.

"good morning." i say smiling wide hugging her back.

we continued to talk in excitement for a few minutes before the bell rang for the first class.

"hey serina." i heard ethan and graysons voice speak from behind us.

"ethan!" natalia yelled jumping onto him. it was a regular occurrence for her to be overly touchy with ethan.

"you never greet me with such excitement." grayson says with folded arms, scoffing.

"yeah, cause i don't like you." she sticks her tongue out at him laughing.

"wow, im kind of triggered." grayson says with a playful agitated facial expression.

i laugh at their childishness shaking my head.

cringing i look at natalia in ethan's arms, though it wasn't her fault she hadn't known about my feelings for him.

not that it really mattered because my feelings weren't strong at all it was just a tiny crush that didn't really matter.

natalia's my best friend and it wasn't hard for her to get everyone's attention.

peoples whispers were heard when the words "new girl" still floated around the school, she was the new it girl.

she was absolutely gorgeous, she always was, she never had that awkward faze, she was always beautiful.

she had bronzed sun-kissed skin, with prominent blue-green eyes that would make anyone swoon.

her dirty blonde hair in soft waves flowing and her slim body that showed off her amazing curves.

"baby." a voice called as they neared behind me, he gave me a big hug embracing me.

"hi babe." i say with a big smile pulling him into a quick peck.

"oh hey boyfriend." natalia speaks with a smirk.

matt and i had been dating for two years, we met freshman year and hit it off since then.

my crush on ethan barely crossed my mind once i met matt, ive been in love with him ever since.

matt rolls his eyes at natalia giving her a hug, a longer one than the others, before they pulled away from eachother.
