i put my hands out in front of me walking, to guide myself so i wouldn't bump into anything.

because my friends were doing an absolute terrible job of guiding me.

"go over there." grayson says excitement lacing his voice.

"to your right, to your right!" emma yells, while i almost tripped over a curb from their lousy directions.

"over where? i can't fucking see you idiots." i say with a sigh.

a blindfold covered my eyes as i attempted to walk slowly to where grayson and emma were leading me.

"keep your eyes closed." grayson points out.

"they are closed, there's a damn blindfold over my eyes, dumbass." i say annoyance dripping from my voice.

emma grabs the left of my arm while grayson grabs my right.

they both kept light grips on me as we climbed a few steps.

one of them opened a door from what i could hear, leading me through, they closed the door once we were inside.

"okay so where the hell are we?" i asked crossing my arms.

"patience my dear." grayson says with a laugh.

"shut up grayson." i say with a roll of my eyes even though they couldn't see it.

"stop rolling your eyes and take your blindfold off brat." emma says.

with another roll of my eyes, i take off the blindfold to be met with pitch darkness again, my eyes trying to adjust to it.

"it's still dark-" i begin to say, the light abruptly turns on followed by screams and yells.

"happy birthday serina!!" they yelled out in unison.

the place that was dark just a few seconds ago was now lit up with my favourite people.

"ahh, oh my god." i screamed out in happiness, covering my face with my hands in surprise.

"you guys." i pouted, feeling tears form in my eyes.

grayson came up beside me wrapping an arm around me, while emma hugged the side of me.

i truly loved my friends so much, i felt so appreciated by them for doing something so special for me.

i was finally twenty-six– still single and i felt like i was getting older by the day, considering i hadn't really accomplished much.

but having these important people i loved so much– most of the time.

knowing them almost all my life i knew i wouldn't be letting them go anytime soon.

"thank you." i say feeling my voice crack as i gave them both a tight hug.

"can't. breathe." grayson says after a few seconds.
