chapter twenty - "all bad"

I SAT ALONG THE EDGE of the small cliff looking over the lights that surrounded the city.

it looked absolutely breathtaking while the sun was setting.

the cool breeze hit my face while i swung my legs back and forth.

"hey." i heard a voice say from behind. the air was quiet, the only sounds of the rustling of the leaves and the blowing trees.

i turned around giving him a smile. "nolan! you made it."

he sits next to me giving me a smile back. i hugged him tightly, catching him off guard.

"woah there, you okay?" he says startled with a light laugh emerging from his mouth.

"yeah im okay, i just really needed to talk to you." i pull away from him nervously.

"okay what is it?" he turned his full attention to me and faced me sitting criss crossed.

"first, i really want to know how you really feel about me." i raise my head up to look at him, his bright blue eyes reflecting from the light.

"you're here to break things off with me from whatever we had right?" he says looking at me as if he's known.

"nolan- " i spoke.

"let me just say something okay?" he says softly.

i nod continuing to keep my eyes on him.

"you like ethan, possibly love him, right?" i nod my head again slowly allowing him to continue.

"i like you, i do, but ive seen the way you look at him, talk about him."

"it's okay, i understand how you feel about him, and im not going to stand in the way of that."

"i'd much rather have you as my friend, go get him." he finishes off with a smile.

i smile back giving him a small hug. "thanks for understanding nolan. it makes everything a lot easier.

"i should get going anyway, i'll see you at school tomorrow?" he says getting up.

i get up along with him, giving him a nod. "yes."

"see you." i gave him another quick hug, watching him leave.

i overlooked the city kicking the rocks beneath my feet, enjoying the sweet silence.

i knocked on the door of the twins' place waiting.

grayson opened the door confused to see me. "hey rina, everything okay?"

"yes, yes everything's fine." i say walking in, grabbing his hand i led him back to the couch.

"is ethan here?" i ask.

"nope he just left to get food, why?"

"nothing i just missed you." i say falling onto his shoulder.
