i stared at the text for a long minute before deciding to text him again later.

is everything okay?

i didn't know why i bothered trying at this point. it seemed like ive lost his attention.

it got harder and harder for us to hold a proper conversation and it hurt.

what i didn't know was that i was really losing him.

i watched her sleep peacefully next to me. her back turned away from me, as i sat up in bed looking towards the ceiling.

the dark sky light shined in through the window, illuminating her bare back, which accentuated her glowing skin.

we were finally able to see each other from our busy schedules and being at college all the time.

i drove two hours just to stay the night and it felt like we got right back into what i wished what it was still like.

she moved further away to attend college while i did the same.

i sat in her bed, her sleeping a close distance away from me.

after the distance it just got too comfortable, much more than i wanted to admit.

it was a quarter after three, the bright lights of the numbers lighting up the dark corner.

after those amazing summer nights in high school, everything just felt different.

she made me feel alive.

i put everyone aside for her.

what was so different now?

when we wanted to take things slow, we never really got together. it just felt like a small fling you'd have in your freshman year of high school.

whether i liked it or not we were drifting apart.

we talked less, we saw each other less, our conversations were dryer than i could remember.

i missed talking with her all night, forgetting about what time it actually was.

the wild nights that we had together.

i laid awake trying to figure out where we went wrong.

it seemed like she was trying so hard to rekindle our relationship, with where we left off, the unconditional feeling we had once for each other.
