Chapter Three

I made my way to his bathroom... I looked at myself my whole makeup had been destroyed with tears still flowing down my cheeks. After Mr Peterson had his total pleasure, he went straight to bed.. I stared at him with anger filling my eyes.

I picked up my shoes and carried it on my hand as I made my way to the main gate of his house. When the gateman saw me, he was very surprised.

"Madam! Wetin happen?" He asked but I didn't want him to touch me. I yelled at him to open the gate and quickly boarded a cab to take me back home.

*ring*

"Hello?" I said awaiting the reply while I was in the cab.
"Thelma? Where are you? Oga is looking for you o." My colleague said but I didn't reply as I hung up and threw the phone into my bag.

"Ma are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital?" The cab man asked as I darted my eyes at him.
"Mind your business and take me where I said you should." I fired back not minding his age.

I was broken not just physically but emotionally also. This was my first experience with anal sex and it was most definitely worse than anything I imagined.

I got home and flung my bag and shoe on the floor as I jumped on my bed crying and raining curses on every man that have ever done bad to me. I hated them all.
I thought of what I could do to get back at Mr Peterson but I was blank. If I went to the police, he had money to make it all go away and besides I'll get fired from work because he's good friend with Mr Agunji.

I was still in the midst of crying when I had a knock on my door. Who could it be? I got up and managed to clear the room as neat as I could then walked up to open the door.

"What do you want?" I said then looked up to see a young man of about late twenties. He was light skinned with nice shaped beards.

"Oh sorry. I think I'm lost. Looking for where Mrs Adejobi stays." He said with a smile. Mrs Adejobi was my neighbor.. she stayed at the back of the flat.

"She stays at the back." I said and didn't hesitate to close the door on his face.

"Nice meeting you too. I'm Alex by the way!" He yelled but I didn't answer him as I went back to the bed. I was just going to sleep awhile before going to work.

"Thelma where the hell have you been?" Mr Agunji yelled as I walked into his office looking like a ghost.

"I'm very sorry Sir. Was held up." I said as he threw some documents on the table then he started clapping.

"You did well. Mr Peterson told me you did good enough to persuade him and he will come back but not just that, he'll bring a few of his friends too." Mr Agunji was very pleased which made me wonder if it was planned.

"Just doing my job sir." I said and excused myself out.

Maria came running to my desk smiling and grinning all over the place. She was beginning to get on my nerves.

"How did you do it?" She asked.

"I didn't do anything. I only told him to consider our company that's all." I lied. Didn't want anyone gossiping about me in the office and definitely don't want anyone to remind me of what happened... I was going to survive this, I always do.

"Thelma!"Mr Agunji yelled as I got up and walked to his office.
"Yes sir. You called me." I said as I saw the man from earlier.. what was he doing here?
"Meet Mr Coker.. Alex Coker. He's an investor but he hasn't been in the country for awhile now. Just got back."

"We've met." He said as he walked forward and stretched his hand.
"I'm really sorry about earlier sir." I said and faked a smile.
"It's fine. You are?"
"Thelma sir."
"Call me Alex please. I'm not old yet." He said and chuckled as I faked another smile.. I was getting uneasy again.

"Um sir.. I'll be gong now.."
"Wait! I want you to show Mr Coker here everything about the company our achievements and prospect, everything." Mr Agunji said as he patted Alex on his back.

"But sir! I still ha-" he cut me off again and insisted I showed Alex Coker everything about the company. I hated my job at times. "Yes sir!" I said angrily and walked out to my desk.

Alex stepped out after a few minutes grinning as he shook Mr Agunji and then later walked to my desk.

"So Thelma it is?"
"I don't recall stuttering when I said my name earlier." I said rudely as he smiled.
"So why don't we go out for lunch." He suggested.
"What for? We could talk here." I said but he shook his head jokingly.
"I'm hungry at the moment and won't be available again.. you don't want Mr Agunji to get mad at you.. do you?" He said with a very mischievous smile...
Well I'd make sure it'll be a very open place so nothing he's planning can come to past.

"Alright. Where are we going?"
"We could go to restaurant just around the corner." He suggested as I faked a smile and packed my bags... I wasn't in the mood for anything or anyone but I had no other choice.

"I'll see you downstairs." He said and made his way downstairs.. on my way going down, I saw Maria who was giving me some weird smiles and signs.

One thing about me is that I'm no longer interested in anyone.. Alex might be thinking that something could turn out well but I'll give him a very low blow! He definitely wasn't my type.. I don't even have a type anymore.. not ever since my own father and uncles rapped me and made me do things I couldn't think of doing at a teenage age.
