Chapter Ten

I got to work luckily for me on time before even Jeremy showed up... I had the keys to his office so I went in to help him cleanup but he was a neat and organized person because the whole office was already in order... makes me wonder why he needed an assistant.

"What are you looking for in here?" He asked as I turned around. He wore a white tee shirt accompanied with a pair of ripped jeans makes me wonder if the dress code applies to everyone. "And why are you putting on a jacket on top of your gown?" He added

Because of the way the gown was and how it exposed a little bit of my cleavage, I decided to put on a jacket over it.

"Uh it was cold this morning and my gown is a bit open." I said hoping he would understand but he was just a foolish and dumb rich kid to understand.

"I don't get... open?"

"Never mind. I've finished reading the reports you gave me. Read them inside the bus on my way here to work."

"Hmm good." He said and walked past me proudly like a peacock showing off its multiple colors and sat down on his chair.

"I'll be at my desk if you need me." I said as I turned to leave but he called me so I stopped.

"Today's work isn't in the office luckily for you. I have a tea cup meeting at 9 which you would accompany me to in order to jot down and keep notes."

"Oh where sir?"

"Don't ask me foolish question." He fired at me "just go take your pen and note and get ready to follow me."

"Yes sir." I said and left his office. He could be really annoying but I wasn't going to let him affect me this morning I said to myself in affirmation.
Tolu came to work later on and greeted me briefly before rushing away to greet oga. I don't understand why he was so scared of that goat they call boss.

We got to the venue where the tea cup meeting was expected to hold but it was a fancy restaurant rather than an office or something.
Is this how rich people have tea cup meetings? I thought to myself.

"So whatever I say, you must agree. Okay don't start pulling stunts here." He reminded me again like I was a child or something.

"You've already told me before Ehn. I've heard." I said and before he could fire a reply at me, a lady turned up with another guy by her side. They exchange pleasantries with Jerry and I and we all sat down as we were served a cup of coffee.

"Jerry! How have you been?" The lady asked as Jeremy gave a fake smile and responded before looking at me.

"Who's she?" The guy asked as he turned his attention towards me.

"I'm his ass-  Jermey cut me off before I could finish my statement. "She's my girlfriend. Thelma."

I let out a huge cough as if something got stuck in my throat.

"Are you alright? Have a glass a water please." The lady offered me "thank you" I said shyly as I gulped it all down and let out a heave.

"So girlfriend I hear. Wow that didn't take you long to move on." The lady said to Jerry as he smiled again.

I stared at Jeremy as in to ask him what foolish game he was playing but he didn't even pay attention to me at all. He was engrossed in the lady. Makes me wonder if they had anything going on.

"Oh Yh my name's Tom. This right here is my sister Bunmi. She started dated Jerry when they were in the university back in the UK." Tom said as I made the 'OH' expression. So this goat can have feelings? I thought

"Oh that's nice." I let out as he sneered at me with a little pinch on my thighs which I must admit hurt and I let out a little wail.

"We were kids back then." Bunmi said and continued "we're here to talk business so why don't we get at it."

"Great idea." Jeremy added as they began talking about a collaboration that was supposed to happen between their two companies.
Tom and Bunmi's dad has a company which is based in the UK and they want to collaborate with Jeremy dad's own. It was supposed to work out with their marriage but since it broke down, they're trying to map out the benefits for the duo company as one.
It lasted for about an hour with lots of topics I didn't really understand but I kept nodding like I did whenever they required my suggestion... I bet I looked like one of those agama lizard who just nod at everything.

"Thank you for making out time to be here Thelma." Bunmi said as she stretched out her hands to shake mine which I accepted.
"It's no problem." I said trying to act as posh as I could. I cannot come and fall my own hand.

"I'll be seeing you around Jerry." She said and went off with her brother as I fell on the chair and relaxed.

"God save you. That your mouth that doesn't seem to stay in one place." Jerry fires as he began making his way to the car and I followed after him.

"Me?! You're the one that just brought up that stupid game. How was I supposed to know that you would do something like that Ehn?" He didn't even reply me as he got into the car about to leave me.

"Get in." He commanded and I immediately heeded and got in and the ride back to the office was very quiet, only the sound of his music player was heard throughout from the restaurant back to work.

We got to the office and I came down about to walk in before he called me.

"Here." He said and handed me a blue colored nylon and before I could open it to reveal its content, he drove off. Jerk

I took it up to my office and unwrapped it. It was a brand new iPhone. Wow I had never used an iPhone before because of the costly price that came along with it. There was also a pouch that accompanied it and a little note was there.

This is so when your phone falls down, it won't break again. You this clumsy jar head.

I laughed a bit at the note but later sneered at it. I was majorly happy about the new phone. My dad even though had a lot of money, never really bought me any phone as my mom was the one that did all that.
