"Why can't I see?!"
"Do not be afraid." I heard. "You are safe." I tried to move, but I couldn't feel my limbs. I was straining to pull my eyes open, but they wouldn't obey me! My body felt like... I didn't even have a body! Or at least it felt like everything was numb!
"You will be taken to a world to where you will find others, others who will accept you, but you must look out for those who wish to harm you and those who would keep you for selfish reasons."
"Who are you?!" I asked.
"Someone who has heard your cries for help." The voice said. "Now, I have a set of instructions that I need you to follow. When you wake up, don't move. Someone will find you shortly and take you to their home."
"W-what?!"
"Don't be afraid of who they are, they only seek to help, but be wary of a few who will try and utilize you." The voice said. "For... unkind purpose's."
"What are you talking about?!" I demanded. "Where are you taking me?!"
"To a place that will more openly welcome you." The voice said. "Finally, make sure you enjoy what is given to you. They've been waiting for someone like you for a long time now. Other than that, you may decide for yourself."
"But-"
"Now sleep." I felt my consciousness drifting, but I could hear something else before I went fully unconscious. "But you will receive a gift, one that will help you, and others that you so choose." My mind went into a slumber, not thinking anything. Almost... like my mind no longer functioned. No feeling, no smells, I didn't even feel myself breathe, but I could feel something, but I can't describe how it was. I felt afraid, but, safe, and also... I can't think of it.
I didn't know how long I was out, but eventually, I felt something breeze past me. It wasn't until another minute I was able to open my eyes. When I did, I found myself in a forest. The breeze was the wind, blowing against my face. I was starting to get the feeling back in my body. I was able to get my body moving again. I was able to turn my eyes to the sky and see that it was dark, and stars were in the sky.
I was able to get some circulation back into my arms, my mind waking up from... whatever that was. I staggered for a second, then, with some leverage from the tree I was leaning on, I was able to stand up. I had to use the tree to keep myself up while the blood came back to my legs. I started to look around, turning my head to find out if I could recognize where I was. No luck, I didn't know this place at all.
"Where am I?" I asked myself. After a second, I was able to stand on my own, but I was still dizzy, my mind feeling like it just got done with a migraine. I once again started to look around, trying to see something that would look familiar. There was still nothing, earning a sigh of agitation. I heard something shuffle in a bush. My eyes darted towards the sound, and I even saw it move. My muscles tensed as my back went to the tree again.
"W-who's there?! Show yourself!" The bush stopped moving, but I could see eyes staring through the bush.
"I don't mean any harm." A feminine voice said. Out of the bush, I saw a Pokémon emerge, a Ninetales! The look on its face showed complete shock like viewing something that shouldn't exist. I started to look around, trying to find the trainer. To my surprise, the voice sounded a lot closer, so close, that I couldn't deny where it came from.
"Are you... a human?" My eyes shot right back to the Ninetales in complete surprise. My back cemented onto the tree, my mouth stuttering like a motorboat.
"You can talk?!" The Ninetales flinched back a step from how loud I was.
"Of course I can speak." She said. "But-" My mind was blanking out again, spinning back into dizziness. I collapsed back onto the ground, nausea coming over me. Before I even recognized what was going on, I saw the Ninetales coming towards me. A thought came into my mind.
Don't be afraid of who they are, they only seek to help. My mind was still spinning, swarming with thoughts that I wasn't even sure were mine. Whatever that voice was, whoever it was, that was the only thing that... my head was starting to kill me, add to that my stomach was practically barking at me, and I was feeling way too hot, despite being in shorts and a t-shirt. My brain was slowly coming to, the only reason I know was because I could start to hear clearly. I felt something going under my arm and hoisting me up.
"Come on, I'm taking you back to my place until you feel better." I didn't have any energy to fight back as my body was thrown onto the Ninetales back. As soon as my face hit the fur, my mind almost immediately started to go into slumber. I fought as hard as I could to keep myself awake. I was able to ask one question before I fell asleep.
"Who are you?" She turned her head back towards me, looking like my added weight gave her no trouble.
"My name is Rena." She said. Anything she said after that, I wasn't conscious to hear. I only faintly remember my feet dragging on the ground, but besides that, I didn't... I couldn't think of anything else besides that voice. Who was it, and how are there talking Pokémon? Where was I being taken, and what did he mean by enjoy what is given to you? The thought didn't last long as I was out within a matter of seconds.
