When I looked back at the hallway, I looked around. I saw a door in front of me, and another door beside it. My instinct told me to go to the room beside the one in front of me. A little hesitantly, I walked up to the door. Despite my body seeming to have regained the energy I thought I had lost, my mind was spinning a little bit. I placed a hand on the door and opened it up a little bit. When I peaked in, I saw nothing but darkness. As I opened it some more, I still saw nothing. I almost thought I had the wrong room until I felt someone's gaze turn on me. I took a few steps in the darkness and shut the door behind me. With the door closed, I still saw nothing. My eyes weren't adjusting at all. I could perceive nothing in here. I took a step forward, then I saw something flash underneath me.
When I looked down and shielded my eyes, letting my eyes adjust, I saw that it was a faint glow of a crescent moon. As I looked down at it, faintly glowing a whitish-blue, I looked around again to see if I could pick out anything around me. It was a little brighter, but I couldn't make out any shapes. I took a few more steps forward, then something else lit up when I stepped off the crescent moon. I looked down and saw that there was another crescent moon, this one more filled. I looked forward, then took a step off this moon. This time, a half-moon appeared. I felt like I understood what was going on. I took a few more steps in front of it, then another one showed up. I had gotten to another one to shine, then I took a few more steps and another one illuminated. This one was a full moon. As I stood on the center of it, I looked around again. Despite the light from these moons, I still couldn't see anything. Then I started to hear something moving.
I looked above me and started to see the ceiling split apart! It seemed to go upward like it was forming a tent, then went all the way vertical. Then the walls started to sink in to the walls! Moonlight was seeping into the room now, illuminating everything around me. There was still a glass roof above me, but I could feel the touch of the moonlight. I got my first good look at the room. I saw something spiraling upward, like tower. I didn't see the top, but it was maybe ten or fifteen feet tall. Around me I saw a variety of things from what looked like exercise equipment to a gymnasium! I've only seen one in my life, but I recognized a lot of the equipment. I called out the name I felt sure this room belonged to.
"Sky?"
"I'm up here." The response caught me a little off guard. I jumped slightly, then turned my head around and saw a platform hanging off the wall! It had a few support beams to keep it from falling, but it still astonished me how that was possible. I couldn't see Sky at all. I looked back at the tower with its slope spiraling upward. My legs seemed to move on their own as I started climbing the tower. After coming to the top, I was able to see Sky. She was a good thirty feet away, her bed right above the doorway, except the platform was level with the top of the tower. Sky was sitting on her bed. When she saw me, I saw her red eyes look at me, then her eyes trailed downward. I was about to ask how I was supposed to get across when I felt something click underneath me. I looked down and saw I had stepped on a pressure plate of some kind. From the top of the tower, I saw a platform begin to form and stretch over towards the platform. As it connected to her platform. I took a few steps forward. Then I started to see the platform begin to retract! I made a dash towards the edge as quick as I could. I don't know what made me think I could make it, but my legs were in a full sprint. As my foot reached the edge, I leapt into the air. For a second, it looked like I wouldn't make it, but somehow, my free arm reached forward as my chest slammed onto the edge of the platform. I slid down a little bit, but I grabbed the edge with my free hand.
I dangled over the edge for a minute, trying to keep hold. My head was throbbing now, giving me a headache. I had to think here, otherwise I'd be falling down and I'd have to do it all over again. I raised my other hand up above the edge and tossed the needle up. I grabbed onto the edge with my other hand, then tried to hoist myself up. I got up a little bit, but I couldn't maintain the strength. I went limp on the edge again, hanging over it while hanging on. I panted a little bit, then looked up at the edge, clenching my teeth. I started swinging my legs until I had gotten myself some momentum. As I came upward, I pulled up with what I could. I was able to get my arms above and swing a leg onto the platform. As I pulled the rest of me onto the platform, I rolled onto my back. I felt a stab in my left shoulder. I winched a little bit, then had my eyes trail over to where the needle was.
