I ran for a long time, emptying my water canteens and eating most of my food. The next place I was heading for was a city called Miles. My legs were on fire, but I didn't dare stop. I was too jumpy and I did NOT want to be attacked again. At this point, I would much rather take my chances with walking in the night next time I walk in the wilderness. Eventually, my non-stop running paid off as I saw my first sign of civilization. Upon reaching the first building, I fell onto my knees, panting heavily and gasping for air. I put my forehead on the ground, taking large gasps of air as I was on the ground, recovering after what I felt was a marathon run. I pulled out a canteen and popped the lid, trying to get water out of it, but it was dry. I closed it and put it back in the bag. Having regained some of my breath, I pushed myself back up, then making sure I had the hood on, I walked into the city. As soon as I took the first turn to try and find some kind of water, the place was filled with other Pokémon walking around.

As I blended in with the crowd, I saw a whole bunch of Pokémon eye me for a second. I tried to push my way through the crowd as quickly as I could. I turned multiple corners, hoping to find some kind of water source. I wasn't getting anywhere, in fact I was only going in circles. I pulled out the map to see if it could give me some kind of clue. Unfortunately, there was nothing on the map that gave a clear picture of where I could find water. As far as I could see, the nearest water supply was a river to the left of the city. I half considered going out there, but that would take me outside the city limits. A picture of that Noivern came back into mind, making my entire body go rigid again. I decided not to go out to the river. Instead, I asked a passerby if there was anywhere I could go to get my canteen's refilled. The Machoke informed me that there were wells and fountains lingered around the city and I could find one not too far from here. I thanked him, then continued searching.

When I went around, walking through the city, I stopped suddenly. The crowd was a little lighter than the middle, but I felt like I was being stalked. I looked around, trying to see if my suspicion was correct. While I was looking, I thought I caught something move out of my sight quickly. I tried to focus to see if I could tell what it was, but then I felt a gust of wind hit my back. I looked up in the sky and saw a few Pokémon flying in the air. My fear of that Noivern came back and I got out of there as fast as I could. Getting my breath back, but now with my throat burning from how dry it was, I made multiple turns, trying to find either a fountain or a well. I was about to go and scream out when I turned another corner, or alley way in this case, and lo and behold, there was a fountain right there. It looked clean as well. I walked over to it without even thinking anything else. The fountain looked so good that I dropped my bag as I put my hands on the stone border on it and plunged my head into the water. I took in all the water I could before pulling my head out, coughing a little, and sighing in satisfaction.

I pulled out one of the canteens, popped the lid and started filling it up. As it filled to the top, I closed the lid and put it in my bag, then got to work on my second one. Erika had given me three. Something told me that she knew I was going to be running a lot. I was running low on food, so I'd have to go somewhere and get some more food. I had a few concerns though. One, what was going to happen when I run out of supplies? Two, how soon was I going to keep going without drawing attention to myself? Three, what was I going to do about my shorts that were torn? I gave a sigh as I filled up the second one. As I was putting the lid back on it, I heard a gasp to my right.

"It's you!" I turned my head, and when I saw who was standing there, I tripped backwards, my heart racing in panic. At the end of the alley way, I saw something that I thought wouldn't have been possible. There was a Fennekin, but not just any other Fennekin. This Fennekin, I knew, was the same Fennekin from back in Amos. I started pushing myself back, my body filling with adrenaline. The Fennekin's expression changed from a smile to concern.
