Jet and I were moving quickly through the shadows, hoping that nothing had happened to Lute. Even though I felt like a liquid, that didn't stop me from feeling sweat roll down my head. Thoughts were running through my head as to what could be happening right now. They overlapped, not really allowing me to finish any dark thought that came to my mind. Eventually, I started to feel myself being forced up. When the light hit my eyes, I squinted, but had to slow myself down from the running start I had. When I came to a complete stop, I let my eyes adjust for a second before I looked at the building in front of me. I would have liked a warning, but Jet and I knew that doing that now wouldn't be the time.

"The Erin City Northern Jailhouse...." I let out some air through my nose, then stepped forward, reaching for the door and pulling it open. When I did, the place seemed a lot... brighter than I thought it would be. When I think of the word jailhouse, my mind goes to dull and blank. Instead, the entire place was lit up, booths, and even some chairs and a couple desks. Sure, it still looked dull, but not as dull as I thought it would be. There were Pokémon walking around, but a couple stopped when they noticed me and just stared in astonishment. As more started to notice, more did the same thing when they saw me.

Jet, where is Lute?

She's through that door on your right, but it's locked. I clenched my teeth, but kept my mouth shut so no one else could see.

Then why didn't you pull us through there?!

You're joking, right? You seriously think these guys would be dumb enough to not notice a shadow slipping into a jailroom? Dozens of Pokémon have undoubtedly tried that, and unless you want to end up in a cell like them, I'd rather suggest you get your a██ to one of the Pokémon that work here and get actual clearance to go and see her! Plus, if you took a second to think about it, you can tell them what really happened and maybe get them to release Lute. As much as I wanted to just get in there and get Lute out, Jet was making sense. I had to stomach down my own urges for right now. So, I walked forward, the door closing behind me as I walked towards one of the booths. The Pokémon who was in front of it stepped away just as I was walking up, and the Pokémon on the other side, a Barbaracle, looked at me and noticed me for the first time. Its reaction was just like the others at first, but then it shook its head and looked at me normally.

"Is there something I can do for you Mr...." I put my hands on the counter, gripping the edges tightly as I looked at the Barbaracle.

"My name is Cassius." I said. "I need to get to Lute, please!" The Barbaracle let out a sigh, pulling up several papers while flipping through some of them.

"Can you name me the species of the Pokémon?"

"She's an Absol!" I responded. "She had a pendant with her! It had wings and a halo on it with a stone!"

"I see." The Barbaracle said, not even looking up from his papers. I don't know what, but that really got on my nerves. Despite that, I gripped the counter even tighter, leaning my head towards the floor and clenching my teeth, letting out a quiet groan.

"Look, you've got to release her!" I pleaded. "Lute didn't do anything wrong! She was framed!" The Barbaracle flipped another paper, studied it, then looked up from the papers and directly at me.

"You understand how serious the crimes she's charged with are, don't you? Falsifying ID to get into the city could potentially make her feral if it comes back negative. Not only that, but she's also been charged with attempted murder. So unless you've got information that we don't know, she stays in her cell until everything is sorted out."

"She never did any of that!" I retorted. "It was Laurine and her d███ psychopathic followers!" The Barbaracle's expression became serious as it set down the papers and looked directly at me.
