I took a chance at luck, examining a few of the doors and trying to think. I looked at a door at the end of the hallway. To the left was Saffron's room. Erika's room was the first door after Kaitlin. I chuckled a little bit, undoubtedly, Kaitlin would put up the biggest fight and try and make me go unconscious. Rose's room was in the second hallway after two more doors on the right. There was the stairway up before Saffron's room. This is probably where the last room was that I hadn't seen yet. I slowly paced through the hallway, closing my eyes, and feeling the wall. I came to the first hallway on my left. I hadn't felt anything cold yet, so I took a turn on the hallway towards Rose's room. I opened my eyes and looked up the stairs. I climbed them, then as I put my hand to the door, I thought I felt a light sting. I pulled my hand back quickly. I couldn't know for sure if the sting was from a chill, or something else. I opened the door, and immediately felt a whip of cool air hit my face like a towel. I even staggered back a step. After recovering, I stepped inside and shut the door behind me. I immediately started to get colder. Yep, this was Crystal's room alright. I put my free hand on my other arm while holding my other arm close to my chest, hoping to stay warm.
"Cassius... come closer..." I heard her voice all around me. There was a faint mist in the air, making it a little difficult to see anything. I could see something in the mist though. I took a step forward to see what it was. As it the fog went away, I could see it was an ice sculptor of a Primarina. It looked rather spot on. I was surprised. I took another step closer to it to look at it, but then my foot slipped from underneath me. I fell onto the ground, still holding onto the needle, then started to notice that I was sliding. I was shocked to learn that I was sliding downhill! It went downward sharply. I let out a panicked scream as I looked down. Then it started to recede and climb upwards. I was being carried upward by momentum! Then I felt nothing underneath me, I was airborne! I came down softly as I went down another slope. I could feel it twist and turn a little as I went up and down, twisting from side to side. I held on to the needle as tightly as I could, then I felt myself go airborne again. I skid across the ground, then before I even recognized what was going on, I felt my head hit something. Not ice, but wood. I brought my hand to the top of my head as soon as I felt myself stop. My head was throbbing now. I couldn't tell if it was bleeding or not. After a second, I could feel my head stop hurting. At first, I was wondering how, but then I remembered.
I let out a groan and a sigh at the same time as I rubbed my head again. I didn't know if my healing would work on lumps showing up on my head. Guess I'd have to find out later. I heard a chuckle in front of me. I pushed myself up with my elbow and sat up. There was still the mist, but it wasn't as thick. I saw something beginning to form through the mist. As it stepped closer, I could make out the dark blue hair hanging from her head.
"Crystal?" She chuckled a little bit, coming into full view.
"Hello Cassius." Crystal said softly. "Enjoy your ride over?" I fidgeted a little bit, feeling my nerves getting frazzled again.
"Do you use that every day?" I questioned. Crystal nodded her head, then looked back.
"It helps add a little bit of fun, but I will admit, I don't think it's built for someone like you. You flew over a lot of the fun stuff." I turned my eyes away, trying to get the thought out of my mind. When I looked at Crystal, something seemed different. It was still her, but... something seemed different. Crystal turned her head back at me and saw my confusion. "Is something wrong?" I looked at her for another second, then held out my free hand towards her.
"Could... I look at you for a second?" The mist seemed to quiver a little bit as I asked this. What I mean is it seemed like it shivered. In that second it did, I thought I found out what was different, but I needed to know for sure. Crystal put on a smile and walked closer towards me. As she did, my realization was confirmed. I put a hand on her cheek and rubbed it to make sure. Crystal was looking at me a little uncomfortable. I looked at her blue eyes, then spoke up.
