Julia's POV
"TARA! MAGGIE! NO!" I screamed at the shadow, just as it vanished.
I flopped down on the floor that was littered with broken glass and furniture. I held my head in my hands and felt tears well in my eyes. No. I will not cry.
I stood up and saw a boy approaching me out of the corner of my eye. It was the kid who was with that other girl who was taken. Sammy I think her name was.
"Excuse me..." The boy said.
"My name is Seth. I'm Damien's brother and uh, I see you're a sorceress."
"Wow charming Seth." I hissed.
I regretted it right away as his face fell and guilt filled me up.
"I'm sorry... I'm just in a bit of a bad mood right now."
"Yeah I get it." He agreed.
"A friend of mine just got nabbed too."
"Sammy? Are you two..."
"No! Uh, well, we just met. It was kind of our first date and stuff..."
"Ah..."
We just kind of stood there looking at the floor awkwardly for a minute or so. Then Seth broke the silence with something I was afraid of.
"So was your friend, um, the ninja?"
"Y-yeah..." I said nervously.
"That was M-Maggie. And the other sorceress was T-Tara."
I was aware I was stuttering. What can I say? I was nervous. I never planned on telling a stranger that I had befriended a ninja; the one thing I should NEVER do.
"That's cool."
"What!?"
"A ninja, your friend. I never would've expected that. It's, new... Different... But awesome."
"Seriously?"
I felt a smile brighten on my face.
"Seriously." Seth said, returning my smile.
"God everyone is being so optimistic about this..."
Seth laughed and put an arm around my shoulders. It didn't even feel odd; it was just a friendly gesture.
"How about you come home with me and we can do a tracking spell. My siblings will want to know about this anyway." He said.
I nodded and followed him out of the cafe.
Tara's POV
I heard rattling. My wrists felt sore as well as my ankles.
"LET ME GO YOU DUMB SHADOWY BLOB OF STUPIDNESS."
And my eyes shot open, now fully awake. It was Maggie who had yelled. The rattling were chains that were wrapped around my ankles and wrists and hanging me from the ceiling. That explained why they hurt.
"Oh Tara! You're awake!" Maggie said.
"Yeah I am. Where are we?"
"I have no idea."
"Oh... And dumb shadowy blob of stupidness? Really?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Hey who's she?" I asked, motioning with my head to a third girl hanging next to me.
"I'm Sammy." She said suddenly, lifting her head.
"I'm Tara, that's Maggie. Nice to meet you."
"Well it would be nicer if we weren't some demented creature's prisoners."
"That's true..." Maggie piped up.
"So are you two magical too?"
"Uh, you mean sorceresses? I'm one, but Maggie's a ninja."
"That's so cool. I wish I wasn't just a boring old human." Sammy muttered.
Maggie and I gasped. We just revealed our true identities to a HUMAN. Sammy must've seen our shocked faces though.
"It's ok." She said.
"My friend is a sorcerer. I know about you guys."
I looked at Maggie and she came as close to shrugging her shoulders as she could being tied up and hanging from the ceiling.
"I'm hooooome girls!" A voice suddenly rang out.
We all tensed, because we all knew who it was...

A/N
Sooooooooooo... How's this new dialogue style? I started writing a fan-fic and that's how I'm writing the speaking parts in that. I find it much easier to read and just think it looks more organized. But what do you guys think?
Anyway, keep reading Peeps!
