Seth's POV
Carly just returned from looking for Azrael's lair. She found it in 20 minutes! Dang she's good.
Aparently they're in some mansion at the outskirts of the human area of the city. We found it pretty fast. How? Because the place was alight with fire and a thick smoke cloud towered above it.
"What the hell! What happened here?" I yelled.
"This must've been recent. It was perfectly ok when I found it!" Carly exclaimed.
"Could Angélie have done this?" Maggie asked.
"No way. She's not THAT powerful." I said.
"What about Azrael? He's a demon angel thing... Could he have done it?" Tara questioned.
"I don't know." I admitted.
"Well don't just stand there! We have to find them before it's too late!" Sammy yelled, and without warning ran into the flaming building.
"Sammy! SAMMY!" I yelled. "Guys we have to find Sammy! Julia and Tara, lets get some fire proof spells going!"
"You got it!" Julia said.
The three of us cast the spell and orangey glows surrounded the five of us.
"These will only last 10 minutes!" Tara warned. "So we have to be quick!"
"Let's go!" Maggie yelled.
And the five of us split up.
Clary's POV
Smoke. Why do I smell smoke? What's that burning feeling in my chest? My eyes snapped opened and I saw the flames. I coughed as smoke filled my throat and my eyes watered. It all came back to me. I caused this. I was angry at Azrael and I did THIS!
I jumped up and covered my face with an arm as I tried to navigate the building. If my anger caused fire, maybe some other emotion would cause something else... Something helpful... Like... Water!
Water is calm. Calmness is the opposite of anger. I sat in a corner and took a deep breath, ignoring the smoke in my throat. Before I knew it, a bubble of water surrounded me. I let it burst and the fire began to go out.
I fell into a rhythmic pattern of creating bubbles and letting them spray over the fire. But it wasn't enough. The building was too big and the fire too strong.
"Someone help!" I yelled.
"Hello? Where are you?" A voice answered.
"Over here!"
I heard running footsteps and suddenly a girl burst into the burnt room.
"How did the fire go out here?" She asked.
"I did it. Like this." And I repeated my process for her. "But it's not enough to stop the fire."
"You! You're the Nephillim!"
"Um how do you know that?"
"Hello Clary. My name is Sammy."
"How do you know..."
"Your name? Oh Clary... Azrael's a fake! A betrayer! I'm the real evil; the real demon. And now you're coming with me." She smirked.
She cackled and her eyes turned black.
"Nighty night little girl!" She hissed, touching my forehead.
I felt my eyes roll back and I fell over. I heard a crack as I hit the floor and then there was darkness.
