Tara's POV
"Phase one should be over in about..." Julia said. "3, 2, 1, and..."
"Hey guys!" Seth said, walking into the center of town with Angélie.
"Timed perfectly." Julia said.
Seth smiled. I saw him throw a glance Maggie's way and when their eyes met, the faintest bit of red was visible on their cheeks but Seth's eyes quickly averted from Maggie.
"So it won't be long until the guard who's still conscious realizes we're gone so let's get moving." Seth said.
"What do you propose we do?" I asked.
"Getting to that." Julia said, taking over. "Phase two. We find Damien and see what happened to Clary."
"Actually that won't be necessary." Maggie piped up. "Azrael and Sammy got her." She whispered.
Angélie went pale and quickly sat on the edge of the fountain. Carly sat besides her, doing her best to comfort Angélie.
"Well then I suppose there's no need to go after Damien." Julia said.
"Yeah. But where could Azrael have taken Clary?" I asked.
"I know." Angélie said, standing again.
Her eyes were slightly red and the skin underneath them a little bit wet. She must've been starting to crying a little.
"Suit up guys. We're going to the Demons' home turf." Angélie announced.
Rome's POV
I could see it. The skyline of my home. The tall skyscrapers rose high into the sky and the smaller buildings hugged the ground.
"Where should I land?" Chris called from above me.
"The forest at the outskirts of the city. The last thing we need is to be seen by plenty of people." I yelled back.
Chris's wings folded against his back and we dive bombed. He let his wings out again as we became even with the tallest buildings. I felt as though I could hang my feet over the hammock and run along the roof tops.
After another five minutes or so we made a smooth decent into the forest.
"Chris I can't thank you enough." I said.
"Well you're doing us angels a great service so it's my pleasure to aid you as you need it." He said, his wings disappearing.
Chris began to roll his shoulders and stretch his aching muscles. I began to help untie the rope from his waist.
"Well kid," Chris began, "let's go find your family." He said with a slight smile.
