Maggie's POV
Seth, Clary and I had been wandering this stupid mansion forever! With practically everything burnt or blackened, everywhere we went looked the same. Of course Azrael had to pick a gigantic confusing mansion.
"Uhhhh we've been walking for hours!" I complained.
"It's only been 10 minutes." Seth chuckled.
He was carrying a passed out Clary who was snoring lightly.
"Can't you do a spell or something to get us out?" I whined.
"Not that I know of. We can't just teleport or something."
"Uhhhhhh! Can't we climb through a hole in the ceiling!?"
"Too dangerous. Not to mention difficult."
"Uhhhhhh!"
Laughing again, Seth turned another corner, only to meet a dead end.
"Oh come on!" He muttered.
Going back the way we had came, Seth summoned a little ball of light in his hands to light the corridors that were darkening with the coming night. The soot and blackened walls didn't help with the lighting problem.
Suddenly a figure came around the corner, fast as lightning. Seth and I barely avoided getting our heads smashed.
"Seth! Maggie!" A voice called, as the figure looped around and landed besides us.
"Angélie! You're ok!" Seth exclaimed.
Seth walked up to his sister and kissed her cheek.
"Congratulations." Both Seth and I said, as Seth gently woke Clary.
"Mmhmm what? Seth can't you carry me a little longer?" She said with her eyes still closed.
"Clary..." Angélie said.
Clary opened an eye, then both, and leaped out of Seth's arms and into her mother's.
"Where's Azrael?" Angélie asked as she held Clary close in a tight hug.
"Haven't seen him. But Sammy's one of the demons." I said.
"Oh no... Follow me and don't ask questions!" Angélie ordered.
She set Clary down and took off down the hall. Seth and I shrugged our shoulders and followed.
Chris's POV
I arrived at the water that Rome must've been talking about. I'd have to swim fast for his sake. Angels are immortal, so it won't effect me much if I don't have air for a little while, but humans aren't. I could still drown him unintentionally if I'm not quick enough.
With a deep breath, I dove down into the pool and summoned a small light in my hand to light my way through the dark tunnel. Soon the waterway slanted upwards again and I soon broke through to the surface. Immediately I left Rome and took on my own form. He was kneeling on the ground, coughing up some water.
"Kind of cutting it close." He forced out between coughs.
"I told you I'd do my best." I shrugged.
"Well at least I'm alive." He said, standing up. "Now let's find Angélie."
