"I know we haven't really talked about being together, but I think there are some things you need to know about me," I tell him. Kyle just stares at me, a small smile on his pink lips.
"Whatever you have to tell me, it won't change my mind about you. I want to be with you," he says. I bite my lip, hoping that is true.
Kyle stares at me, waiting for me to begin. The problem is, I don't know where.
I guess from the beginning.
"My first new high school, I met a guy named Adrian. To keep it short, we fell in love at a first glance. We dated for two years.. two fucking years. Then, one day he said he didn't love me anymore, he said he cheated. He left me, walking home in the pouring rain, sobbing. I didn't talk to anyone for three months," I start, my voice shaking.
Kyle stares at me, chewing on his bottom lip.
"After I came back into the world, I did some pretty bad stuff for a teenager. I got arrested a couple times. Mostly drinking underage and that crap. I ended up becoming him, Adrian. I slept with a guy a couple times, made him fall, and then left. I had about one or two friends at each new school. I ended up breaking each of their trust. I was the biggest slut anyone could ever be. Just because I didn't want to be hurt again.
"You were the first guy that has broken that out of me. I can trust you. I feel as if I am fixed when I am with you. I'm not how I used to be, I'm not carrying everything around on my shoulders when I'm with you."
Kyle smiles. "I feel the same Hailey."
"And now... Adrian showed up at my house, asking for fucking forgiveness. My dad is paying him to be my babysitter. I just... I just am so hurt, just being in the same room as him. I just.." I trail off when Kyle's arms wrap around my shoulders, pulling me into one if his hugs.
"It's okay," he mutters in my ear, his warm breath covering my cheek.
I swallow, my heart thumping so loudly.
I can't tell him about Zach. I just can't do that to him.
"Have you told anyone before? About all this I mean?" He asks.
I shake my head. "No, you're the first I can trust."
"Do you want to stay here for a while? Or do you want to go back home?"
I smile. "Can I stay here?"
Kyle chuckles. "Yeah, of course."
****
After watching all the Harry Potter movies in order, I decide I should go home.
I have to face him sooner or later. I just wish later would be many years.
Walking through my front door, Adrian sits on the couch, watching T.V.
"Hey," he breaths, pausing whatever he was watching.
"Please don't," I say, my voice soft.
"Don't what?"
I close the door with my hip, biting my cheek.
"Don't act as if everything is okay, because it's not."
"I just... I'm just very sorry," Adrian says once again.
I'm so sick of those words.
"Yeah, but sorry can't fix everything."
Author's Note-
