I missed her.Aditya's raced up heart confessed, as he saw Zoya opposite him in the traditional attire. That fine flawless face still affected him as it did during the Fresher's Day at their University. She always made complete justice to the first description he wrote about her behind his notebook.
"A fine painting made by God...whose colors don't even smudge with water..."
Meanwhile, her eyes were stuck on him, as she clutched on to her lehenga, trying to hide her shock seeing Aditya again. She just wanted to wake up with a jerk and let out a deep breath, relaxing that it was a dream. But no it isn't; she knew it. This is not the Aditya whom she would have dreamt about. She has never seen him in such an appearance; something which even Aditya wouldn't recognize himself.
"Zoya, what happened?? Go!" The girls next to her instructed Zoya, while Zoya walked forward slowly as she looked at Aditya.
Aditya stepped down from the stage in small steps, as he didn't shift his gaze from Zoya. He couldn't believe that she had adorned that bridal look breathtakingly, but for someone else this time.
Zoya too looked at Aditya and observed how much he had changed since the last time she saw him in the court; the day she returned his surname back to him.
Aditya just seemed to be shadow of the person, who lived with her some years back.
Both of them walked past each other, with their eyes fixed on each other, trying to read each other's mind at that particular moment, without even blinking their eyes to not lose a detail in that infinitesimal second too.
Zoya walked up the stage, while Yash came to her, sliding his phone in his pocket. He smiled looking at her, and moved close to her ears.
"You look stunning!"
Zoya just turned to his side, without looking at his face and smiled, as her eyes again looked for Aditya, and she saw him sit in the front round table, with two other men. The realization that he was planning to witness, her being taken by another man, made her feel like she was standing bare feet on a carpet of thorns.
"Sir, any drinks??" The bartender came to Aditya, holding a tray with different drinks.
"Whiskey." Aditya said, not taking his eyes off Zoya, while the bartender placed the glass on his table.
Meanwhile, Zoya's father, Waseem came to the stage and stood in between Yash and Zoya.
"So, let the ceremony begin!!"
Zoya's mother, Roshnaq came to them with a tray which had a ring box in it, while Yash looked to his side and instructed his aunt to bring the ring.
Aditya looked at the ring box in the tray, as his mind drifted off to an evening at London, some year's back:
"What's wrong?? Why did you get down??" Zoya asked getting out of the car's front passenger seat, dressed in a pink pastel colored top and black jeans, while Aditya climbed up the bonnet of the car, and signaled Zoya to come to him.
It was a windy breezy evening, all set for a rain, while Aditya had parked the car at the side of the not-much-busy road, which had the view of the beach at the side.
"Yes...tell me!" Zoya said folding her hands in the front, while Aditya extended his hands to her, and she gave him her hands, while he pulled her with him in the car bonnet, and made her sit in front of him, with her back resting on his chest. They loved being color coordinated, which gave them a sense of belongingness towards each other.
"Alright...I can see that you are really in a good mood for romance, baby!!" Zoya said hitting his head gently with her head, as she clasped his arms around her waist, while Aditya said on her ears in a husky tone, "Don't tell me you don't want it!!"
