Something was definitely wrong. The atmosphere makes it crystal clear. Aditya is usually in his depressed self on this particular day, but the current scenario seems worse than how it always used to be.
Arjun looked at a furious Aditya, as he walked through the mess, and stood near Aditya. He looked at all the photos of him and Zoya scattered on the ground.
"Bhai...what happened?" Arjun asked, while Aditya was glaring at the photos, with tears glistening in his angry eyes, as his mind hadn't moved on from the engagement ceremony; that horrific sight of Zoya getting engaged to someone else.
"You left the hotel before I came??" Arjun asked, with a slight hesitation in his tone fearing Aditya's mood too.
"You didn't attend the engagement?" Arjun asked, while Aditya's mind returned to the present on hearing that word.
Arjun placed his hand on Aditya's shoulder, "Bhai...speak something..."
"I did!!" Aditya banged the coffee table hard, as he stood up, breaking the wooden table in two halves.
Arjun moved back in reflex with a terrified expression, while Aditya looked at him furiously, "I happily attended!! I enjoyed myself there!!"
Aditya looked down, as he giggled, "You know what Arjun..." Aditya went to Arjun and held him by the shoulders and made him sit on the sofa, with his right hand bruised and reddish.
Arjun sat there and looked at Aditya appallingly, seeing his state. Aditya knelt down opposite him and looked at him.
"I will tell you a humorous short story...okay??" Aditya sniffed, as he covered his face, taking a deep breath.
"A man named Aditya Hooda went to an engagement of his client unwillingly, because he was in no mood for any activity today. Ask why he was in that mood??"
Even though he knew the answer, Arjun asked, "Why Bhai?"
"Because it was that amazing day when his wife, then Zoya Hooda, left him!!"
Arjun had a worried look, as he looked at the photos too at the ground.
"Bhai, I know it must be..." Arjun consoled, while Aditya interrupted, "Ssshhh!!! My story is not over yet...listen!!"
Arjun looked on, while Aditya said with a smile, "And when Aditya Hooda goes to the engagement, he happens to meet his client's bride..." Aditya's smile faded off as he recalled that moment again.
"...that bride, who was once his bride!!!"
Arjun had a shocked expression hearing it, while Aditya added, "And Aditya Hooda attended that engagement, conveyed his wishes to the bride and came back home..." Aditya laughed as he said gritting his teeth, "I happily saw her becoming someone else's fiancée...in front of my eyes!!"
"Bhai..." Arjun couldn't believe what he heard, while Aditya stood up and gave an amused look at him, "Come on...laugh!! I said you a funny story...you are supposed to laugh Arjun!! I bet you wouldn't have heard about such a situation ever in your life...laugh!!"
Arjun was out of words, as he very well understood nothing can bring Aditya back to normal, after witnessing something like this. No man would act normal, and with the amount of love Aditya has for Zoya, he would have been surprised if Aditya was not in this state. The love he 'has' for Zoya; he knows his brother's heart.
Aditya kicked the broken furniture as he walked forward. He covered his face and tried to cool himself down and come back to reality.
He put his hands down and said looking down, "I know...I have no rights to react like this after we are divorced...just that...I just couldn't..."
