You awoke the next morning to a series of Beeps coming from the hospital machines. You sit up slowly, careful not to hurt your back, but today it surprisingly didn't hurt. You guessed the whole healing process was finally paying off.
You stretch your arms high above your head, groaning as all your muscles expand while you do so. You yawned and brought your hands back down to your lap, scratching your thigh.
You look out the window and see children playing outside, the smaller ones playing leap frog and the tweens battling it out like they were ninjas. You couldn't help but smile to yourself watching them, remembering the days you did that with your dad. Your dad had always let you win, even though you didn't know it at the time. You thought you were the fiercest Ninja, taking out the toughest member of the Anbu Black Ops.
You snap out of your thoughts as you hear someone open your door, Sakura stepping inside.
"Oh my goodness you're finally awake!" She squeals as she runs to your bed side. Something about her seemed different... not her dress... not her face... HER HAIR!! IT GREW A WHOLE FOOT!!
"Sakura your hair!! It was so short last time I saw you! There is no way it grew that much that fast!"
The look of happiness fell from her face, she looked down sadly, fiddling with her fingers.
"(Y/n)... um I don't know how to tell you this.. but, you've been in a coma... for seven months.." Sakura says as she looks up at you, remorse still lining the irises of her eyes.
You just look at her, a look of shock on your face as your mouth falls open. You tried to say something but nothing was coming to mind.
SEVEN MONTHS?! SEVEN!! MONTHS??! That was the only words you could even think of, constantly looping through your brain.
"S-s-s-seven... months..." you look in the pink-haired girls eyes as you finally stutter the words out.
She nods her head, biting her lip. "Yes... you've missed so much... you miss-"
"I NEED TO GET BACK TO GET OUT OF HERE I NEED TO TRAIN I NEED TO GO ON MISSIONS I NEED TO SEE KAKASHI SENSEI I NEED TO LEA--"
"(Y/n)!! Calm down!" Sakura cut you off after you cut her off, laying her hands on your shoulder and gently pushing you back down to lay on your bed. "I'm just messing with you!" She started laughing as she reached her hands under a layer of her hair and pulled out some of it.
"See? It's just extensions." She laughed again, this time harder. She catches her breath and looks at you, throwing the extensions on your bed.
"Why?! Why did you do that?!!! You almost gave me a heart attack!!" You gripped at your chest, taking in deep breaths as you calm down.
"Call it payback! You left me for WEEKS with three boys! I swear there was so much testosterone I thought I was going to puke! You left, then almost got killed! You could've left me permanently!!! Now we are even!" She laughs again as she climbs on to your bed, sitting crisscross at the foot of it.
"Hah hah hah, very funny!" You grab your pillow and hit her with it slightly, chuckling to yourself. You had to admit, it was a pretty clever joke.
"But seriously, how long have I been out?"
"Only one night. Lady Tsunade and I came in here to check on you this morning. You could imagine our surprise when we realized you weren't alone." Sakura replies, looking at you with a sly smirk.
You start to blush instantly. You thought that had all been a dream!
