BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!
Your alarm clock blared, causing you to roll over and punch it with the bottom of your fist as you groaned in irritation.
You sat up groggily, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as you yawned.
Wait.
Your bed. Your alarm clock. Your room.
What... what's going on?
The smell of miso soup filled the air, causing your stomach to rumble in hunger. You absentmindedly crawled out of bed and made your way through the familiar hallways, leading you to your dining room and living room area.
What is going on?
Who is here...
You can't remember anything besides the fact you live alone! You've always lived alone... why is someone cooking.
You looked at the table and grabbed the vase that sat there, taking the flowers out and setting them back down on the table quietly.
You looked in the direction of the kitchen, tiptoeing to the wall as you reared your arm back, ready to strike any intruder who got in your way.
Your inched yourself towards the kitchen opening, scaling the wall as the smell of soup got stronger, clanking of dishes landing in the sink, filling your ears.
You heard humming.
A low, deep voice filling the air.
Wait.. that song.
I recognize that song.. you thought to yourself as you lowered your arm. You laid your back fully against the wall, closing your eyes as you let the soft voice immerse your ear drums.
Your mom used to sing that to you once she tucked you into bed. Or once she walked you to the school. And when your dad was about to leave for a mission and they'd walk him to the front gate...
That song. The song you hadn't heard in over a decade, filling the emptiness of not only your house but of your heart as well.
You gathered your composure and slowly made your way into the kitchen, revealing your sneaky presence.
You froze.
You dropped the vase, it cracking a bit as it made contact with the floor.
Your mouth practically hit the floor as well, and your whole body started shaking with shock and anticipation.
You looked at the scruffy bearded man standing in front of you, his attention turning towards you once you revealed yourself.
"D-dad?" You called out to the man, your voice quivering.
"(Y/n)!" Your fathers voice bellowed in return. He dropped the spoon he was holding and ran to you, pulling you into his arms and spinning you around as he did so. "Oh my god my baby girl isn't a baby anymore!" His voice boomed heartily.
"Dad!" You screamed back with tears in your eyes and your hands gripping his back as you buried your face in his shoulder.
His familiar scent filled your nose and soothed your shakiness.
You dad set you down and took a step back to examine you. You were wearing a pair of plaid printed pajama shorts and a plain white T-shirt.
His eyes boomed with happiness as he finally got to see his little girl again.
"My you've grown so much, (y/n)Chan. Oh I've missed you!" Tears filled your fathers eyes as he grabbed your cheeks and placed his lips against your forehead, kissing it gently like he used to when he was alive.
