Chapter Thirty Nine

~*Kakashi's POV*~

"We need to find her, and we need to find her now!" Kakashi screamed as he slammed his hand on the Fifth Hokage's desk. The anger in his eye was apparent, as was the irritation in his voice.

"Stop stating the obvious, Kakashi. We all know this." Tsunade replies, rolling her eyes. "We have sent many men out in search of (y/n), yet we have nothing. You need to give it more time!"

"Time?!" He yelled. "It's been weeks! Please Lady Tsunade you must let me go look for her! I've been on rescue missions with these men before so I've witnessed first hand just how much effort they put into looking! They don't care about her, not like I do! With the right people I guarantee you I can find her!"

"Kakashi you're too personally involved in this. And not just with (y/n)! We are dealing with the Akatsuki Clan here! Obito is there, with them. Fighting with them. Obviously they are cooking up some sort of fight so we need all of our strongest fighters on guard here just in case it happens.

They didn't kidnap (y/n) for no reason. No one, not even her, knows about the great power she possesses. Her mother, however, did, for her husband possessed the same power. There is no doubt in my mind Loretta told the Akatsuki, who are probably planning to use (y/n) to their advantage."

Kakashi paced back and forth, one hand propped on his side and the other hand running through his silver hair. He stopped in front of the fifths desk again and folded his hand in front of his chest.

"Please, Tsunade. I'll bring the Genin! You'll have plenty of strong fighters here and I can take the most gifted Genin we have. You have to let me try." Kakashi's voice began to quiver, his eyes glistened over with tears. "Please.."

Tsunade stared at him as she let out a sigh. She rubbed her forehead with her temples and closed her eyes before sitting back up in her chair and directing her attention back to Kakashi.

"Who would you bring?" She asked sternly.

"Naruto. Sasuke. Sakura. Hinata. Kiba. Ino. Choji. Neji. Rock Lee. And Ten Ten."

"You must bring Shikamaru too."

Kakashi's eye widened and his tone of voice changed."What?! Oh hell no! If it were up to me he'd have a rope around his neck hanging off of one of the Kage's nose like a booger!"

"Oh real mature." Tsunade said as she rolled her eyes. "Shikamaru goes. He's smart. His jitsu is impeccable. And you need him there to keep Ino and Choji from killing each other."

Kakashi thought for a second, his lip bleeding a bit from just how hard he was biting.

"Fine." He finally said.

"Then you leave now. Gather everyone up at the gate by 7 pm."

"Thank you. Thank you so much Lady Tsunade I promise you this mission will be a success.

"Just don't make me regret it." She said as he turned to leave his office. "Kakashi?" She called out to you.

He turned his head before he could leave her door way. "Yes?"

"Good luck."

Kakashi and Sasuke were the first to the gates. Everyone else showed a bit later, Naruto being the last.

"Sorry I'm late! Couldn't leave on an empty stomach!" Naruto yelled as he flashed a thumbs up.

Everyone rolled their eyes, Ino and Sakura both hitting him on the back of the head. "We are pressed for time Naruto." Kakashi said calmly. "We must leave now in order to find (y/n) soon. Who knows what they've done to her."

"Why is he here?" Sasuke suddenly growled. His eyes glaring straight into Shikamaru's.

Shikamaru just looked at him, his hands shoved in his pockets and his shoulders slumped.

"Tsunade said to bring him." Kakashi answered. "There is to be no fighting on this mission." He glared at Shikamaru. "No matter how bad you want to."

Shikamaru shifted uncomfortably as Choji came to his side and put his arm around his best friend. He said something to him that Kakashi couldn't quite pick up.

"U-um. Kakashi S-Sensei?" Hinata spoke up.

"Yes, Hinata?"

She continued sheepishly. "I-I was w-wondering ...if you d-didn't mind.. if I-I could take t-the lead?"

Kakashi gave her a shocked expression, surprised to see her wanting to take the lead. "No offense Hinata, but why the sudden eagerness to show leadership. This is a serious mission, we can't afford not taking risks or any second guesses.

"I understand.." Hinata responded as her cheeks grew red. Sakura walked to her and held her hand, rubbing it with her thumb to calm her nerves. "I just.. I just feel like with my Byakugan activated to find her, we c-could save Neji's chakra f-for the p-physical work.. we all know h-he's more capable at fighting.. s-so I don't mind using m-my chakra and Byakugan instead.."

Everyone's attention averted from Hinata to Kakashi, his arms folded across his chest. "Very well then, Hinata shall take the lead."

Hinata smiled ear to ear, turning to Sakura and pulling her in for a hug.

They all descended into the woods in search for you. Hinata leading with her Byakugan activated and Sakura by her side.

Sasuke and Kakashi fell behind a couple of feet from the group, waiting to fall back far enough from ear shot.

"Think we can get her back?" Sasuke asked, his eyes looking straight ahead of him.

Kakashi sighed in frustration, rubbing the back of his neck as he responded. "There is no other option. We have to get her back.. not just for our sake but for hers too. Apparently there is something about her, some power that she has. They plan to use her as their own personal weapon against Konaha. So not only do we need to get her back, but we also have to plan for war."

"Well if it's a war they want, it's a war they'll get." Sasuke said while looking at his Sensei. "But (y/n)? There is no way in hell, they are going to turn her against us."

"If they haven't already.."

"You think she is really capable of turning her back on her village? On her friends?"

"No..." Kakashi said, his gaze fixating in front of him. "But she is capable of bargaining.. our lives for her help. I strongly believe if they promise not to hurt us, she will help them."

"Like Itatchi." Sasuke agreed, nodding his head. "Well, we won't have to worry about that. Because we are going to find her. And we are going to kick us some Akatsuki ass."

Kakashi smirked at his students cocky response. "You're right Sasuke." He pulled out a flask of Sake from his vest and handed it to Sasuke.

Sasuke grabbed it and opened up the lid, and held it up slightly in the air. "For (y/n)." He said, taking a drink and handing it back to Kakashi.

Kakashi copied Sasuke's movements, looking at him as he held it up.

"For (y/n)."
