Chapter Twenty One

You didn't sleep. You couldn't eat. Showering seemed pointless to you.

As soon as Kakashi turned his back on you, your spirit broke, your mind broke, and your heart broke.

You tossed and turned the whole night after he left. Every time you closed your eyes there was nothing but flashbacks of your fight with Kakashi.

You sighed and rolled over, looking at the time glowing red on your alarm clock.

3:00 AM.

Ugh, way too early.

You got up and got ready, meeting at Team Seven's usual spot under a tree. It was four o'clock, the time Kakashi told you to meet them, yet no one was there, not even Sasuke who is always early.

5:00 am. No one.

6:00 am. Nothing.

7:00 am. Sasuke got there with Sakura and Naruto, they all looked so groggy.

"Jeez y'all are so late! I can expect this from Naruto and maybe even Sakura but you Sasuke? That's shocking!" You jumped off the tree branch you sat on for the past two hours, rubbing your butt because it went numb.

"What do you mean, (y/n)? We aren't late." Sakura said, confusion spreading on her face.

"Yes you are! By three hours! Kakashi Sensei told me to meet you guys here at Four for training!"

As your words left your mouth you realized what was actually going on.

Kakashi did this. On purpose. He knew about your weakened state, and he knew getting no sleep would really affect you, making you weaker during training.

"That bastard!" You gasped as you connected the dots.

You looked at your team, their reactions clearly showing they were taken aback by your sudden vulgarity towards your Sensei.

"(Y/n), follow me." Sasuke said as he grabbed your hand and pulled you away from the other two.

"What's going on? You just called the love of your life a bastard, so something must be going on." You could tell he was curious, but you really didn't want to tell him. At least not until after training. You didn't want him to distract him, and a fight between Sasuke and Kakashi is the last thing you needed.

"Sasuke, I think this is something we should talk about later..."

He nodded his head in agreement, but you could tell he didn't want to just let it go.

"Don't worry, I'll explain everything-"

"Why not explain now, (y/n)? You afraid your best friend won't want to be around you any more after he finds out you cheated on me?" Kakashi's cold voice filled the early morning air, instantly making the hairs rise on your arms and the back of your neck.

You turn your head to look at him, Kakashi being propped up in a tree, his book in his hand but his eye fixed on you.

"What the hell kakashi?! Sending me out here three hours earlier than everyone?? What are you trying to prove by that?" You yell at him in frustration, even though you knew the answer to your question.

"Wait, what am I mi-" Sasuke started to say but what cut off by Kakashi.

"I'm not trying to prove anything, (y/n). I was just trying to give you time before training to visit Shikamaru. Isn't that all you've been doing the past few weeks anyways? Spending time being physical with him outside of training? Wouldn't want you to go through "shika" withdrawals now would we?"

He hopped out of the tree and started walking to Naruto and Sakura, his eye now fixated on his book. You went to say something but you knew it was pointless.
