I was running around the city climbing up walls. I didn't get home until 11 at night. I walked up the steps. Uncle Ben was sitting on the porch with his arms crossed over his chest. "Hey." "Did you forget something?" He asked. My phone rang. "Don't answer it but its good to know it works...you owe your aunt an apology BIG TIME! Get in there!" Ben said. My head fell. I walked in. Aunt May was in the living room looking worried. "May I am so sorry. I got distracted." "You don't need to apologize." "Like hell he doesn't! Because you were distracted...my wife had to walk 6 blocks in the dead of night and then wait at an abandoned subway station!" Ben raged. "I'm sorry." "Peter. You are just like your mother. Adventurous and always getting into trouble. Your mother had a principle though! Responsibility is something that is a good thing. Responsibility makes you the person you are today, Peter!" "Okay...then tell me...where is she? Huh? Where is my mother? She didn't think she was responsible enough to me this herself?!" "How dare you!" "How dare me?! How dare you!" I yelled tears on the verge of escaping my eyes. I went to the front door and opened it. I slammed it shut. The glass shattered. I looked behind me at the door and continued on storming off into the night. MJ was standing outside. "Pete?" "Not now MJ." I stated and continued walking. I ran off into the night.

"Peter! Peter! Peter?!" Uncle Ben called out. I was sitting on a metal support beam under a bridge. Ben walked below me. I headed into a convenience store and grabbed a tea. I went to the counter. "That'll be $1.37" I gave him $1.36. "You still need a penny. You're holding up the line man." I grabbed a penny from the 'leave a penny' container. "You can't do that. You have to spend 10 dollars to get a penny." "That's stupid." "It's store policy. Beat it kid." I walked away and stopped by the entrance. The guy behind me pushed over a rack of something on the counter. "Seriously?" The guy grabbed a wad of cash from the register. He threw me my tea. I caught it. He nodded and I returned the nod. We both left the store. I was walking away from the store. "Hey stop him! He stole my money! Hey kid a little help?" "Sorry. Not my policy." I said rudely and continued walking. I was walking when I heard a gunshot behind me. I stopped in my tracks. I turned around. I saw a body on the sidewalk. I walked to it slowly. As I got closer, the body was more and more familiar. "Oh God! Nononono!!! UNCLE BEN! Oh my god. Oh my god. SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!!! Uncle Ben! Wake up!" I screamed and cried and my hands were covered in his blood that was pooling out of his abdomen.

I stand leaning against the wall of the house. My eyes red from crying. Aunt May was sobbing. "Can you tell us if you have seen this person?" May shook her head. "I didn't think so. Homicide detectives are on it." The sketch artist stood up and went to leave the house. "Hey can I have that?" I asked pointing to the sketch of the killer. "Sure. There's one other thing. He has a tattoo of a star on the inside of his left wrist." The guy said. I nodded. He left the house. I stared at aunt May who was balling her eyes out. My teeth grimaced. I headed up stairs and slammed the door shut. I cried into my phone as I listened to Ben's voicemail. I threw my phone across the room.

The next day I was a drone on autopilot. I was at my locker. "Hey Parker." "Not today, Flash." "I just want to talk." Flash said as he put his hand on my shoulder. I picked him up and pinned him against the lockers. "How does that feel? Parker...I get it. Your uncle died. I'm sorry." Flash said sincerely. I nodded my head and let him go. I picked my bag up and closed my locker. I walked down the hall to come face to face with Gwen and MJ. "Pete?" I had tears in my eyes. They both hugged me. I shrugged them off and walked away.
