I woke up in the Avengers new place. I looked around at my surroundings. I blinked multiple times so my eyes could adjust to the bright white lighting of the room. I sat up in the bed of my quarters and pressed my hands to my forehead. My head was ringing and in pain. I opened my eyes to see a group of people standing in front of me. I dropped my hands to my sides. The people staring at me were none other than the Avengers themselves. Scott, Malia, and Lydia were standing in near the doorway with Derek. Isaac and Cassie were nowhere to be seen. I rolled my eyes and avoided the death glare of Tony, Steve, and Natasha. I got out of the bed and stood near the large wide window. I looked out the window at the landscape. "If you want to say something to me...say it otherwise...leave me alone." I said not looking at them. "Kid, do you have any idea what you just did?" Tony asked. "I know exactly what I did. Do I feel bad about it? I don't know." "Peter...why did you do it?" Steve asked walking up next to me with his arms crossed. I glanced over at him. "What would you do...if you walked around a corner and watched as your ex-girlfriend was making out with one of your friends...behind your back? Hmm? How would you feel about that?" I asked turning towards Steve. "Wait what?" Natasha asked. I sighed as I slid down to the floor playing with the hem of my white shirt. I looked down at the floor. "I walked around the corner and saw Cassandra and Isaac making out in the hallway...I soon found out that....that Cassie was actually dating Isaac....while she was dating me. So....you kind of understand why I did what I did." I said glancing up at the group of superheroes and the others. "You mean to tell me....that Cassandra...my daughter....was cheating on you....with a blond headed wolf boy?" Tony asked. I nodded silently. Steve looked at Tony with wide eyes. "Tony...no." Steve and Natasha said simultaneously. Tony gave them both a dangerous look. He held up his hand to silence them. "I don't want to hear your optimistic outlook Steve....There is no optimism in this situation." Tony said turning on the heels of his feet and exited the room. I looked over at Natasha and Steve. I sighed silently and looked out the window. Natasha walked over to me and sat down on the ground next to me. "Guys...can you give us a minute?" Natasha said. Steve nodded and looked over at Scott and the others. He motioned them out of the room and smiled as he looked over at Natasha and me. He walked out and closed the door behind them.

Natasha and I sat in silence for a few minutes. "Heartbreak sucks doesn't it kid?" "Tell me about it. It felt like a hundred thousand knives were just jammed into my heart." I said. "It does get better Pete." "How does it get better? It's not like I can erase the memory from my mind, Nat." I said looking at her. She wrapped her arm around my shoulders and looked over at me. "True...but I know from experience that no matter how bad things get....there is a silver lining. No matter how dark things may seem....Pete....there will be a light to show you the way." She said looking into my eyes. I nodded as a few tears rolled down my cheeks. "I wanted to find Cassie because I wanted to talk to her about some things that have been happening to me lately." Natasha looked at me with concern in her eyes. "What kind of things?" "Ever since...I died and was brought back to life....I have been seeing things, hearing things, having night terrors, and sometimes I don't know if I'm dreaming or not. I can't pick out what's real or not." "What have you been experiencing?" "Well, for starters...I'm being haunted by my dead girlfriend." "That's not terrifying at all." "I have been hearing her voice in my head and I've been hearing another voice in my head....a deadly one. It's telling me to do things that I have a strong urge to want to do." "Like what?" "The voice tried to tell me to kill my friends...Nat....I agreed to it...i-it's like it is taking control over my mind. I've been through this kind of thing once in my life. It was not pretty. It was how I had Allison and Aiden killed. Nat...what if I'm possessed again?" I asked with wide eyes. Natasha pursed her lips.

"Last time you were possessed by a thousand-year-old evil fox spirit, called the Nogitsune. I don't think you've been in contact with anything that could possess you. Have you?" Nat asked. "No.....wait. I think I have." "You have?" "Yeah....when my spidersuit was covered in that black stuff. Remember when I was trying to tear it off and Thor dropped his hammer. Did you see that figure with the teeth and white eyes?" "I vaguely remember that." "I think it's still a part of me." "I thought you got rid of it." "I thought so, too. What if a small piece of it is inside me? What if that one small piece is enough for it take control of me?" "Well, have you had any signs of abnormal behavior or appearances lately?" "....Yes. When I was fighting Scott and Isaac. My skin was pale and my arms were covered with black veins, they were almost vine-like. What if this thing is already winning?" "We will find a way to get it out of you. I promise. But for right now....I suggest that you stay away from any fighting or emotional situations." Natasha said. ".....What if I'm dying? This would be for the third time." I said standing to my feet. "Wait died once already?" "When I was possessed by the Nogitsune, I died for like 5 seconds and returned." I said running a hand through my hair. "You are not going to die. We are not going to let you die...not again." Natasha said. I nodded. "Let's go. It's time for dinner." "I've been out that long?" "Kid, you've been out for 3 days." "Damn. Suddenly...I'm really hungry." "There's no doubting that." Natasha said getting off the floor and walking to the door and opening it. She looked at me and smiled. "This heartbreak will go away eventually. They all do. It's when it doesn't that causes problems for you." Natasha said before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.
