Chapter 15

- Itaru's POV -

Alarm Goes Off

What happened last night?

"I like you, Itaru." She smiled. "I always have."

I blushed. I can't believe Tamiko felt the same way, but...

"But it's okay. I know that you like the mayor's daughter ever since you saw her."

I sighed. I guess it's time for school...

At the Train Station

I closed my eyes while listening to music. How am I gonna confront Tamiko? I've been confessed thousands of times, why am I struggling to deal with this one?

"Itaru?" I opened my eyes and saw Tamiko in front of me.

"Tamiko!" I got startled and jumped back.

"You okay?" She asked.

I sighed. "Don't do that! You scared the poo out of me."

She giggled. "Sorry."

It looks like nothing has changed.

"Itaru!" Akari ran towards me and hugged me. "We haven't hung out much lately. Wanna have dinner at my place tonight? You can invite your family, of course."

Train Comes

"Uh..." I looked up and saw Tamiko walking onto the train without me. Tamiko...?

- Tamiko's POV -

I leaned against the train doors and sighed.

"It isn't like me to leave a friend like that..." I saw someone I didn't expect.

"Kyoko?"

At the School Entrance

"Sorry... about everything." I looked at Kyoko and saw her frown. "Friends shouldn't be leaving their friend like that."

"A lot of things have happened ever since I bumped into Itar..." I quickly covered my mouth.

Kyoko smiled. "It's okay. I don't like Itaru anymore. Itaru literally made me turn against my best friend."

"When did this happen?"

"A few weeks ago. I guess I missed hanging out with my best friend." Kyoko looked at me with her calm eyes.

"You know what, how about we go to the mall today? We gotta spend some time together." I took her hand and pulled it towards me.

"We have school though."

"Missing one day of school wouldn't hurt." I looked back and smiled at Kyoko.

To be honest, I just couldn't face Itaru. I know what I said last night, but it's uncomfortable. He knows I like him now, should we still act the same? I really wish he didn't fall in love with the mayor's daughter. Things would've been a lot easier.

- Itaru's POV -

Lunch Time

I bought my lunch and couldn't wait to see Tamiko up on the roof.

"Hey Itaru, let's have lunch together." Some of my classmates came up to me.

"Sorry, maybe next time."

On the Roof

"I know I'm late, but I have a good reason...?" I looked around and couldn't find Tamiko anywhere. "Where is she? I saw her get on the train this morning."
