Chapter 3

- Tamiko's POV - 

Bell Rings

"So are we gonna go to the cake shop?" Kyoko asked with excitement. 

"Oh yeah! The cake shop!" I totally forgot! 

"What...? Did you forget?" She frowned. 

"Pffft. No...." I looked to the side to avoid eye contact. "But by any chance, can we go on the weekends?" I started to form a smile. 

Kyoko put her hand under her chin and mumbled, "I see... if we go on the weekend, we have more time to ourselves. And then we could go shopping and..." I awkwardly giggled. 

"So is that a yes?" I asked. 

"Yep." Kyoko was then filled with excitement. "But what plans do you have?" 

"I gotta go to the soccer practice." 

"Soccer? But it's a sport." 

"Yep." 

"And you don't do sports." 

"I know, but Itaru asked me to go." 

Kyoko made another frown. "Itaru, huh?" 

Oh no! I can't say Itaru! "I meant Jin, Itaru's best friend." 

In the Hallways

"Why would Jin wanna meet up with you?" Kyoko asked with confusion. "I mean, didn't you say you hated him?" 

Flashback

"Oh no! I'm late for practice!" Jin ran through the halls. "Make way! Move!" Jin bumped into me and we both fell down. 

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" I yelled. 

"I said Move, but you didn't so it's your fault!" We glared at each other and made sparks of lightning in between our eyes. 

Back To the Present

"Ugh, don't remember me." I made a disgusted face. 

"You're the one who brought it up!" 

"Oh really?" I hit myself with my hand. 

Kyoko sighed. "I'll come with you then." She smiled with excitement. 

"Oh no. You don't have to."

"I have to! I need to see my knight in shining armor." Her eyes turned into hearts. 

"Oh..." I pretended to giggle. This is not gonna end well.

At Soccer Practice

"Ahhhhh! Itaru!!! Jin!!! Over here!!!" Jin is popular too? I looked over at the crowd and it was all girls. All.

"Ugh, just look at them." Kyoko spits on the floor. 

"I'm not going there." I put my hands up. 

"But you said you were meeting up with Jin." Kyoko started to get confused. 

"Yeah, I know..." I looked behind us. "I'm just gonna wait... not near the entrance." I ran toward the goal.

"Wait, what?" She turned around and I was already gone.

"Phew. That was close." I can't let her know I came here for Itaru. When I looked up, I saw Itaru waving right at me.

My eyes popped out and started shaking my head left and right. I knew that he didn't understand because...

HE WAS RUNNING TOWARDS ME! NOOOO!!!

"Hey, Tamiko." Itaru smiled. "You made it!"

"I mean you told me to come..." I looked over at the entrance and saw all the girls frustrated.

It was such a bad idea to come...

"I want to introduce you to my team. Come on in."

"It's okay." I awkwardly smiled. "I'm fine here."

"Oh. That's okay." He turned around and started yelling. "Hey, guys! Come over here for a sec!"

All the guys came over. I looked at Itaru. "Why..."

"I wanna introduce you." He smiled. This can't be good. "Guys, this is my new girlfriend."

My eyes popped out again. O_O

"You're kidding." I said to him.

"You're kidding." The whole team afterward said. 

Itaru just continued to smile.

Correction: It was a very bad idea to come. 

In front of the Boy's Locker Room

I took out my phone and looked at the time. When is he gonna come out...

"I'll see you guys later." Itaru opened the door and waved back at the team. 

"I need to talk to you." 

"Oh sure." He smiled and Jin appeared behind him. 

"Ugh... Jin." I glared at him and he did the same. 

"Hello, Tamiko. How's your butt?" He smirked knowing what happened in the past. 

"It's doing just fine. Thank you." I turned to Itaru. "I really need to talk to you." He looked back and immediately Jin backed off. 

"You don't need to ask." Jin just being Jin...

"So what is it?" There came a smile, then a grin. "...girlfriend." 

I took my bag and throw it at him. "What were you thinking! I never agreed to this."

"I know." He picked up my bag and handed it to me. "But I have a really good reason." 

"And that reason is...?" 

"I have to get used to having a girlfriend." He awkwardly smiled and I had no reaction. 

"And why does it involve me?"

"Because I can act normal around you. I don't know why."

"That's nice." I smiled. "But I won't help you."

"What! Why!"

"Because that reason is stupid. I mean if you want a girlfriend, try getting one." I crossed my arms. "And don't pretend that I'm your girlfriend. People are gonna misunderstand."

"Sorry. I didn't think it through." Itaru looked down. "I just thought since we get along so well that we might be a good match."

I started to give in. "But what about Akari? She's your childhood friend. Don't you guys get along well?"

"Yeah, but I think of her like a sister. I can't go out with my sister!"

"You know that she thinks of you of more than just friends, right?"

"I know, but I don't feel the same way." I kinda feel bad for her. I don't know how it feels, but I just have this feeling. "I really wish she can find someone else who makes her happy." He looked up and smiled.

My eyes widened. Everything was all sparkly. What is this feeling?

"Fine. I'll pretend to be your girlfriend."

His eyes widened. "Really?!?!"

"Wait. You have a key to the roof right?"

"Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"I wanna eat lunch on the roof!" My eyes started to sparkle. "I've seen on TV where students eat on the roof and it looks sooo nice!" Itaru started to laugh. I tilted my head. "What's wrong?"

"You're so weird." He smiled. "So is that all you want?" He asked while wiping his tears.

"Yep." I smiled.

"Then we have a deal." He put his hand out waiting for me to shake on it.

"Deal." I held his hand and shook.
