The doors closed and just like that, Gally was gone. He was gone. No more abuse. No more hiding. No more fear. The person who has broken me down so much over the past year was just...gone.

I sat down on the grass and put my head in my hands.
He's gone. He's really gone.
I could feel everyone staring at me but I didn't care. Just then I heard Alby call out

"Alright shanks go to bed!"

People started clearing out as I sat on the grass outside the walls. Newt came over and sat next to me. After a while he spoke.

"What did you promise?"

I looked up. He looked relieved that Gally was gone but concerned. Probably about the things Gally was yelling at me.

"I promised not to tell anyone what he did."

I looked down, ashamed. Gally was right. How useful was I if I couldn't even keep a secret? A stupid little secret.

"Ya know that's bullshit right?"

I looked up into those beautiful brown eyes then looked back down.

"Right Gus?"

I nodded. Then I stood up and walked to the homestead for bed.
