I drove back from the doctors office, tears in my eyes. I had just had an appointment and as excited as I was to hear the news I did not expect what he had told me.

The tears blurred my vision as I thought of ways to break it down to Austin he had been so happy when we found out but now his only gift! His only reason to live had been snatched from him weeks after finding it.

I felt so horrible, my stomach churned at the thought of how much of a disappointment I am as a wife, as a daughter as a person in general. I had one task in life and already I had failed just weeks after it was handed to me.

I pulled up to the PM house and wiped my tears away. I fixed myself and let out a breath I had no clue I was even holding in. I stood in front of the door and before I could knock it swung open. And a cheesing Austin stood before me. Before I could say a word he yanked me inside and sat me on the couch

"So I got this stroller for like 50% off, I got these paints, I wasn't sure weather it was a boy or girl so I got both, we can have pink walls with blue flowers or blue walls with pink dots you know. Then I got like 10 cans of baby formula at Walmart and there baby shoes! How cute!! And I know pregnancy can be hard on you so I got this pregnancy pillow and a bell so whenever I'm around just ring it so I'll come help you" Austin said. You looked at everything and gave a weak smile

Austin was so happy to be a dad, you remember the day you found out

I slid down on the bathroom floor, letting my tears fall

What if Austin leaves me?

What if he doesn't want a baby?

My pity party was cut short by Austin banging on the bathroom door

"Babe? Are you okay? Why are you crying? Please let me in" he said with worry laced in his voice

You slowly opened the door to reveal your small fragile figure to Austin who scooped you up into his arms and put you on the bed. He gently placed a kiss on your forehead and waited for you to speak. Knowing not never to push you to speak.

"Austin I'm so sorry, I understand if you wanna leave me. I don't wanna be a burden to you and your family-
"Woah slow down Lightning McQueen, what's wrong?" He asked with a light chuckle
"I-i'm pregnant" you said softly

There was silence before you were scooped up into the air! And spun around, kisses being littered all over your face making you giggle before being faced with a beaming Austin

"Oh my god! Thank you so much baby! You've given me a gift nobody can top!" He said giving you a passionate kiss
"I promise to never leave you! To always be by your side, til the day I die" he said

(I just realized those are lyrics from Zara Larson and MNEK's Never Forget You... wow)

"Babe?" Austin said snapping his fingers in front of your face
"Mmh?" You hummed
"Why are you crying?" He asked wiping your tears
"Austin I'm so sorry" you cried
"What's wrong?you were so excited for the ultra sound and now you're crying, I promised to be by your side"

You took a deep breath before looking him dead in the eye

"The baby's gone"
