Dear Oliver,
This morning I woke up feeling great! I had finished my project with Ray. I had actually slept through the night. And I had done all my homework instead of saving it for homeroom.
I wasn't excited to go to school, but I wasn't exactly dreading it either. That's just because I was in a good mood.
I even had a philosophical thought (big word, I know):
Gerard's philosophical thought of the day:
Are songs popular because they're on the radio, or are they on the radio because they're popular?...
I have been pondering this question all day. I still haven't found a solution yet.
Anyways, I got ready speedy quick and actually put some hair gel in to make my hair look shiny and nice.
If Frank's gonna be everywhere, I might as well look my best, right? I thought.
So because I had some extra time due to my speediness, I ate an actual breakfast: eggs, bacon, and eggo waffles.
I was feeling wonderful!
Once it was about 7:10 am I went to the front door where Mikey normally waits for me to come and drive him to school.
But here's the twist:
He wasn't there!
So I waited like 5 minutes, then I left without him. I wasn't going to be late, especially when I was in a good mood.
I didn't even bother waking him. It was his own fault, and I was going to let him get in trouble.
Ha!
So I drove 20 minutes on my own with only my music to keep me company.
But I was okay with that.
When I got to school, I noticed that there were less cars than usual. I had made it to school a bit earlier than I normally did as it was 7:30 instead of 7:45. There wasn't as much traffic today, though for some reason. Maybe everyone overslept.
It had rained overnight and that usually tends to make people sleepy...or maybe that's just me.
So I sat outside on the patio located outside the cafeteria where I normally wait in the morning when I'm early.
I sat there for 10 minutes before noticing that there were no other students there. Which was weird because lots of kids take morning classes and stuff.
So I walked around the school to see if there was anybody and I saw a few teachers, but again, no students.
Fishy, I thought.
By that point, it was already 8:55, five minutes before the bell is set to ring. So I went to the office to ask the ladies there what was going on.
I thought maybe there was an alien invasion and they abducted all the children of the world except for me cause I'm awesome.
But... I didn't want Frank to be abducted...
When I walked into the office, the women looked at me like I was the strangest creature ever.
