It was the morning of their last day in Hawaii, and the mansion was as quiet and daunting as their one back in Oakland.
'David sat in his bedroom scrolling through work business texts as Kim applied make up and combed her hair from far away. It was better for them to sit in silence like that because once one of them says anything, then its bound to lead to an argument. They had known each other since High School, but as each day passed it felt as if they were strangers who were forced to live under one roof their whole life or else. They did have a choice, but that choice wasn't as easy as it seemed and would cause a lot of complications in their already damaged family.
Kim placed all of her things down on the table and gazed at herself in the mirror for a brief moment before turning back to look at David. She eyed him closely from head to toe before clearing her throat and speaking up. "You're so focused... I sure hope you're not texting another woman" she spoke boldly, cocking her head to the side before turning back to face the mirror.
David sighed to himself before turning his attention over to her. "You would love for me to be having an affair with the way you bring it up every time" he hissed impatiently, before shifting his eyes away. If Kim ever found out that he had cheated on her with Michelle then all hell would surely break loose.
"Well are you, David?" she questioned rotating her head back to face him once again.
"Are you waiting for me to so you can finally have a reason to file for divorce, is that it?" he asked, calmly as heavy silence lingered around the air.
Kim shot him a wicked glare and turned back around, whilst clenching onto her jewellery tightly. If they had made the decision to divorce years ago and not just stuck around because of their kids, then maybe now they wouldn't completely hate each other's guts and despise each other in every way possible. When they first began dating they never thought that they would be a point in time where things could get as bad as this, but I guess that's what being in an unhappy marriage for 17 years does to someone.
"I hope you didn't forget that we have lunch with my friend Gabby and her Husband this is afternoon. We're bringing Steph along as they also have a daughter around her age" Kim spoke up, quickly changing the conversation topic, as David rolled his eyes, knowing the only reason why Kim ever visited people was to boast about their riches and expenses, and the amazing luxurious life they lived compared to others. Ever since David made his first million years ago, it was all she ever did, and one of the things that annoyed the hell out of him.
"I didn't forget... we can even leave early if that'll make you happy" he muttered, causing the grip on her jewellery to tighten. She hated whenever he uttered those words, when all he ever did was the complete opposite.
Half an hour later, Michelle laid in her bed inside her bedroom whilst gazing up at her bedroom. Due to her heavy drinking from last night, she had a massive headache which she couldn't seem to shake off.
The week had been a wild roller coaster and she couldn't believe it had ended so quickly just like that. From being kissed by her older attractive boss to then have his also attractive son tell her he was falling in love with her, made it seem like she had dreamt her way through this entire trip. Because of those two things, it also gave her a lot to think about, and she knew that if Kim ever found out either of those things happened, she would be fired instantly.
She knew that she had a connection with David, and she also had a new founding connection with Jay too. It wouldn't take an idiot to figure that out, and what's worse is that they are Father and son. Not two completely different strangers, but in fact blood-related family. She had no choice but to disregard and dismiss this connection she felt whenever she was with them and focus on other things because David was very married, even though it was unhappily, and if she ever reciprocated Jay's feelings for her and got with him, it wouldn't sit too well with Kim. Her life couldn't have been more confusing and puzzling right then and she simply had no idea what to do.
