Jay furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he gazed down at Anika bewilderingly. "Did you say half sister?... Michelle never told me anything about that" he muttered under his breath, whilst slowly closing the door to the driver's seat and slipping his hands into his pockets.

"Well... she doesn't know I exist" Anika explained, whilst crossing her arms across her chest. She sighed to herself and glanced over at Michelle's apartment door for a brief moment, before turning her attention back to Jay. "I only found out about her not too long and I've been looking for her ever since... we have the same Father, its a long story" she stated, whilst nodding her head. It had all began to add up.

He peered down at her in shock, before turning to look somewhere else. From what Michelle had told him before, the only family she had grown up with was her grandma as her father ran away before she was born and mother died whilst giving birth to her. Anika looked up at him as he dazed of in his own thoughts, before clearing her throat and speaking up once again

"How is Michelle like?" she questioned, placing one hand on her hip.

Jay paused for a brief moment before turning his head to glance down at her. "She's amazing... you'll grow to quickly love her once you just sit and talk to her" he replied, whilst gazing back into the distance.

Anika nodded her head up at him, before taking one last deep breath. As she dragged her feet against the pavement to walk across the street, her heart bean began to quicken and her hands felt clammy. Droplets of sweat were beginning to form on her forehead as she gulped loudly, and she couldn't hide her nervousness even if she desperately wanted to. As she arrived at the front door, she turned her head to look back at Jay as he slowly got inside his car, before slowly turning her head back. She stood staring at the door for a couple minutes, deciding on what to say and how to act, until she finally got the courage to raise her hand and knock. Within several seconds later, the door quickly swung open.

"Jay, I told you that Michelle doesn't wanna-" Natalie stopped mid sentence as she slowly eyed Anika from head to toe. "And... who are you?" Natalie questioned, poking her head out the door to see if anybody else was around.

Anika swallowed in another hard gulp as she stared down at the short red head. "I'm looking for Michelle" she spoke briefly. Natalie eyed her closely for a couple more seconds before opening the door widely for her to step inside.

"Michelle, someone's here for you!" Natalie called loudly as Anika looked around the small apartment whilst standing closely to herself. As Michelle quickly hurried out of her kitchen, Anika quickly froze. A smile began to spread across her face as she gazed over at her sister, who she didn't even know existed a year and a half ago. Michelle gazed back at her with a blank expression before cocking her head to the side at Natalie.

"Uhm, hey... do I know you?" Michelle asked politely. She glanced out the window for a couple seconds to see Jay's car driving off from across the street before fixing her attention back to Anika.

Anika lowered her head for a brief while as she started to think back to everything her Father had told her. She never thought there would be a day where she was stood in her apartment face to face to her. She had a lot to say, she had rehearsed everything she was going to say to her on the plain journey and car ride in her head but as she stood across from her in the living room, she initially found herself tongue-tied. She was shocked that she was doing well for herself. For a good who grew up with no parents, and in a very poor and deprived area in Madison, Indiana, she unexpectedly had her life together which is something she couldn't help but admire in so many different ways.

"Hello... are you okay?" Michelle asked, plastering a smile on her face, whilst taking a couple steps towards her. Her smile was so genuine. She smiled as if she had grew up experiencing no problems or hardships in her life.
