A week had quickly went past, and it was finally the day of David and Michelle's date.
David stepped out of his black Rolls Royce car and buttoned up his suit blazer, before turning around to look over at Michelle's apartment. He had been counting down this day ever since he asked her to go with him, and now that today was the day, he couldn't have been more excited. He hadn't gotten this alone time with her in a while, and it was especially difficult hiding it from Jay so he wouldn't find out. David knew that his son was crazy for Michelle, but he was even crazier for her. He simply adored her in every single way and respected her more than he's ever respected any woman before.
He took a deep breath, before shutting the door to his driver's seat and going over to walk over to her front door. The gently, yet breezy early night's wind quickly blew past him, causing him to stop and glance up at the sky for a brief moment.
As he arrived at her door step, he lifted his hand to knock on the door, before taking a couple steps back. It was very risky to take her to a place where she isn't used to being, but in a way he wanted to let her know that he was dead serious about being with her and he didn't care who knows. After getting out of a seventeen year marriage that left him emotionally drained and mentally weakened, he had finally stopped caring about people's opinions and what they think. If only he had stopped caring a long time ago, then maybe he would've been happier too. He always thought that he was going to remain trapped in his marriage with Kim forever, and if Michelle hadn't came into his life he would've been till this day. Without realising it herself, she had saved him. Not just from Kim, but from all his troubles and a life without happiness.
Moments later, the door slowly opened and there stood Michelle smiling widely up at him. She was dressed in a short black, velvet dress that reached all the way to her knees, and her long, faux dreadlocks was tied back into a low ponytail. She wore white wedge heels, and also had on light make up. She looked beautiful.
David took a step back to gawk at her in complete awe from head to toe, blown away by how stunning she looked. How did he ever get so lucky to meet a girl like this? he thought to himself as his heart bean began to increase by each second.
"You look beautiful..." he spoke up, slowly eyeing her from head to toe.
"Thank you... you don't look to bad yourself" she replied, causing him to chuckle lightly. She quickly grabbed her house keys and her purse to the side before closing the door after her and taking a deep breath. This was going to be a long night and she'd be lying if she said she was prepared for it.
David dived into his pockets and pulled out a small silver box. He opened it and held it up to her and she couldn't help but gasp at the diamond, ruby necklace. It looked very expensive and also looked like it cost more than anything she'd ever owned. She looked back up at David as he slowly and carefully removed the necklace from the box. "This is for you" he muttered, going to put it on her, but before she could, she quickly stopped him.
"Wait you bought that for me?" she questioned in disbelief. "Thank you very much, David, but I can't accept that. It looks way too expensive and-
Before she could finish her sentence, David quickly placed his index finger on her lip, before stepping behind her to place the necklace around her neck. "I knew you were gonna say that" he whispered, sending cold shivers down her spine. "But it doesn't matter how much it cost me. I saw it, and I knew I had to get that for you, you don't have to thank me".
As he finished helping her with the necklace, Michelle, couldn't help but glance down at it in amazement. Nobody had ever given her anything this nice before.
He lifted his hand up to push a strand of her faux lock behind her ear, before placing his hand on her lower back and leading her over to his car. He opened the door to his passenger's seat and helped her inside, before going over to the driver's seat. As he stepped inside, and shut the door behind him, he turned to look at Michelle who stared down at the necklace before looking back up at him. "You really didn't have to buy this for me, David" she smiled, placing both hands down on her lap. "But, thank you".
