Chapter 6

"What do you want?" I said looking at Drew.

"I wanted to say sorry." He said with a smirk on his face.

"For what kissing me, running away, then not talking to me for what almost a month?" I said with attitude.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that. I...I was just scared." He said sadly.

"Scared of what? Me?! You knew me all my life. I don't understand how I would scare you. If I scare you that much then maybe it's better off if we don't talk. I said starting to walk over to the driver's side of the car.

"Lilah please wait. You know that's not what I meant ." He said getting into the passenger seat.

"Then what did you mean?" I said irritated.

I don't understand what he means by that. How in the world would I scare him? He pauses and signs,

"I never felt this way about anyone before and it scares me. I just don't want to ruin anything."

"If you never felt this way about anyone before then why didn't you ask me to the dance. But no you had to ask Brittany." I said still irritated.

"Delilah can't you tell that I like you. I like you more than I will ever like Brittany." He said trying to grab my hand.

I pulled away.

I know you're probably thinking what are you doing, but he's known for breaking people's hearts and not having a serious relationship. That's what I want I'm a junior in high school I want to get serious. I know you're also probably thinking you both are going to  go you're separate ways but if that happens then oh well.

"How am I supposed to know that you aren't going to break my heart or just use me?" I said.

Then his face lit up.

" I have an idea." He said.

I just looked at him confused.

"So how about we fake date for a couple of months until I gain your trust and I show you how I will treat you. So, you in? He said smiling.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt anything if I did. Plus everyone would love if the Captains dated. So why not. But only one condition." I said looking at him.

"Yeah of course." He said taking my hand and placing it with his.

This sweet gesture made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

"We can't tell anyone we are fake dating because then it would give it away obviously," I said smiling.

"Yep, that works. But what are we going to do about the dance he said looking at me.

"I don't know you're going with Brittany," I said while rolling my eyes.

"I'll call Brittany tonight tell her I can't go with her because I have a girlfriend." He said smirking at me.

"That might work. Can we talk and drive because I need food and plus I need to get ready." I said smiling.

"Yeah, no problem Babe." He said winking.

"Remember you can't call me that until you ask me out someway," I said laughing

"Oh yeah, I kind of have an idea on how I want to do it. I want to ask you in front of everyone on the field." He said smiling

"Ooh, you want to be dramatic. I likey." I said.

Drew and I both started laughing. Clearly I was joking.

"So this is the plan the guys and I are going to run through the banner and everything. While they are announcing the team they are going to thank the cheerleading captain which is you. Then they are going to say Delilah can you stand next to Drew for a minute so we can get your picture. You being nice and cheerful like you usually are, are going to agree and walk over." He said until I interrupted him and said,

"I'm a cheerleader I'm supposed to be nice and cheerful duh."

"May I continue?" He asked looking at me.

I nodded.

"The photographer is going to tell you where to stand then I'm gonna come in with a sign and flowers. The sign is gonna say 'Be my catch and go out with me.' Then you are going to say yes and I'm gonna kiss you then we are gonna hug. Then you take the sign and flowers and run back to the rest of the cheer team." He said tiredly because of how much he was talking.

"If anyone asks us how we made up just say you came over to my car and apologized and I expected it so we hung out at my house until we had to leave to go to the game," I said

He smirked at me and said,

"I'm loving this side of you. I can't believe you and I are going to be dating in two hours. Wait I almost forgot where are we going to get the supplies to make the sign."

"I got stuff don't worry," I said smiling

We got to my house and Jay was taking a power nap. Knowing him that was just an excuse to be lazy.

I walked into his room to make sure he didn't see Drew. I saw he had an open bag of cheese puffs on his chest, mouth wide open, and his tv basically screaming.

I'm telling you Jay is turning into our dad already. Imagine what he's gonna act like when he is an actual dad. Probably ten times worse.

Idiot.

Drew and I walked into my room. I closed the door and made sure I locked it just in case. Also closed the blinds just incase Jenna wanted to snoop into Drew's room and sees us hanging out.

Drew and I finished the sign and we both got ready for the game.

"Better leave so I can go and get flowers." He said smiling.

I walked Drew to the door making sure Jay was still sleeping. Of course, he still was.

We reached the door and Drew said,

" See you later Babe." He then kissed my cheek. I said bye then prepared myself for what was going to happen tonight.
