Chapter 2

You might think it's weird how I have a crush on Drew because he's Jenna's brother.

Jenna has always been supportive of everything I do in life.

I'm just scared that she will not accept that I like Drew. It's not like he will like me back, he always likes the sort of girls that are pretty but treats people like crap.

Speaking of that type here comes Brittany the school's mean girl.

So you know all mean girls have the two other girls that do everything the main girl does.

Yep, that's Courtney and Jessica.

Jenna and I get out of the car and start walking into school when Brittany came up and stopped me and said, "Hey Delilah."

"What do you want, Brittany?" Said Jenna.

"Someone said that Delilah was the new cheer captain," Said Brittany in an annoying tone.

"Yeah, so," I said.

"You need a co caption, don't you," Said Courtney.

"Yeah I already got one, it's Jenna". I said with a duh tone.

"Well just because your cheer caption doesn't mean you can have Drew," Brittany said. 

"Ok," I said then Jenna and I walked away.

"What does she mean by that?" I asked a little worried.

"I guess cause the cheer captain is supposed to date the captain of the football team and, that's you and Drew."

" Oh well, that's never gonna happen," I said to Jenna a little upset.

"I don't know Drew seems to get whatever he wants, just be careful, I don't want you getting hurt." Said Jenna with an annoyed tone.

"Yeah, I don't wanna get hurt either."

The bell rings and Jenna and I walk separate ways.

First period I have Art.

I walked in and none of my friends were in the class.

So I guess I will be working alone.

I thought to myself until the door opens and Jay walks in.

He came over and sat at the table with me.

"So, I guess I gotta sit with you,"Jay said.

"I guess," I said then looked back at my phone.

I was texting Jenna about the whole cheer captain thing when the teacher got up from his desk and said,

"Delilah pay attention."

"Ok sorry, Mr. Johnson," I said nicely.

The rest of the class, Mr. Johnson kept talking about the classroom rules.

That nobody follows anyway.

The bell finally rings and I walk out, put my headphones in, and go to the second period.

Gym

At Edgewater, gym class can contain people from every grade.

So I walk into the gym and sit on the bleachers a while and go on Instagram to see if anything new has happened.

While I'm waiting for class to start, I feel someone tap my shoulder.

I turn around and see Drew.

"Hey, heard you got cheer captain this year, Congrats." Said Drew in a flirty tone.

"Yeah, thanks."

"You know what that means for us right?" Drew asks.

"No am I supposed too?" I asked confused.

"Yeah. You know that people expect us to date right?" Drew said smirking.

"Yeah but know that can't happen," I said.

He didn't say anything else.

He just got up and walked to his friends in the gym.

Then the teacher walked in and explained what we will do this year.

While he was talking I was thinking Drew knows we can't date because Jenna said before that she doesn't want me to get hurt by him.

She also told Drew that I'm off-limits because she doesn't want him to come between our friendship.

The rest of the day was boring.

I was walking to my locker to get my things when Drew stopped me.

"Hey Lilah," he said in a flirty tone.

Nobody calls me Lilah other than Drew.

"Hey is there something you need?" I said shutting my locker.

"I just wanted to know if you were going to be at the Surf Hut after school?" He questioned.

"Yeah, I will definitely be there," I said with a smile on my face.

"Ok see you there." He said.

He winked and walked away.

I love going to the Surf Hut. Basically the Surf Hut is a place you can buy surfboards, learn to surf, and enter in surfing competitions.

I work there with Drew, he got the job for me. I'm a surf coach and I also do surfing competitions.

I started walking to the car.

"So how was your day?" I asked starting to pull out of the parking lot.

"Good," she said blushing.

"Oooo what's the blushing about?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

"This boy that I have been recently crushing on said he wants to hang out tonight." She said with a smile on her face.

"Ooo get it! So who is this guy you're talking about?" I said still smirking.

"Um, it's Jay."
